Ìjálá Aré Ọdẹ is a type of oral Yorùbá poetry sung by hunters, but made modern by Ògúndáre Fọ́yánmu.

Widely believed to be an invective track against a competing poet who had dabbled into politics, Ẹlẹ́nu Méjì didn't take any prisoners. In this track which did all but name its primary target, Ọládàpọ̀ deploys proverbs, aphorisms, and insinuations to paint a full picture of his target's duplicity and unreliability. A classic of a track, recorded for EMI in 1988.

This is from the album "Ẹlẹ́nu Méjì" (1991), a track on the potentialities in each individual person. "Àjẹ́" in this case a synonym for 'ingenuity', 'creativity', 'personality', and 'genius'. Listen for a cameo by then gospel singer Báyọ̀ Adégbóyèga in the backup choruses.
