Was out on a ride in Mexico this weekend, and the technique known as "Trail Braking" saved me from running wide in a corner. I think this is a very valuable skill that every motorcyclist should know and use. I learned this skill on the track, but it really should be taught to every one.

👍How would you compare the road surfaces there to the roads here in Minnesota?
A lot less tar snakes, and no pot holes. The in town roads can get really greasy as the heat of the day builds. I think the only roads here I don't care for are the ones in Valley of Fire. They end up with a fine dust on them and get very slick.

Good vlog, it was good to hear your voice. It looked really warm out there and the "S" sounded great. I guess it's kind of a culture difference when you compare Minnesota to Vegas. At least you get to ride year round now. How would you compare ZARS to the group you rode with at Willow? A couple more sessions at Willow and I bet you'll break out of the 1:30's.
2WheelTrackDays was a bit more like MotoMN or RRR than Zars. It was just track time, and you do with it what you want. They offered coaching, but didn't push it on anyone. Yeah, after looking at the AIM SOLO data, I can see where I was loosing time. Corner speed, and coming off throttle too early.
@@502-BadGateway I'm sure that if you keep going to Willow, you'll become more familiar with the track. You'll be more confident and your corner speeds will pick up. I'm hoping RRR will have a couple of track days this year.
Great run brother. I got the exact same full suit. Don't ride with it now a days as it used to match with my previous bike and the current one is blue. :)
What'd they bring you in for?
If you go to 7:17, you will see a bike off track to the right, so it was a red flag.

Interesting, you keep going there and I bet you'll be doing 1:29 or better lap times. Looked like you were getting a little tired on those last couple of laps.
Quite the track, long and flat. Were you on slicks?, how was the weather, lap times, speed? Looks like you were flying by a lot of those other riders. Was it fun?
It's not flat at all, one good up hill at the end of the front straight, then at the back they have a "bowl" that goes down in elevation. Very technical and tons of fun! Due to not having a trailer, I went back to Q5s, and they were great. I'll post another video with laptimes on it. Best I did was a 1:31.1. I wanted to get sub 1:30, but just couldn't get there. It was a blast, 100+ degrees, so it was HOT, but a ton of fun.

Yeah, this video you don't want to hear the camera audio. Between the wind and the popping and clipping, it's 100% trash. The next video I post is going to have audio from an external audio recorder, and sounds much better! I'll skip the music on that one for ya. :D

Well done. Reminds me when I was younger. First engineering job out of college. Married with a child on the way. I bought a new 89 Suzuki Katana GSX750. Ride for miles on the straight roads of rural Texas. At 130mph the World wraps around you like a blanket and you sort of hit this weird etheral phase where there is no time. Just you and the machine one as it screams underneith you like a formula 1 race car. Heaven.
