First soak the whole spool of line in a bucket of warm water for an hour. Then load the line into your reel the way he tells you to do it.

But how to unspool it back to spool and back on reel and not inteoduce some line twist?

So if new line has label facing up does that mean it will always come off in a counter clockwise rotation or do some brands come off in a clockwise rotation?

I have an electric line spooler where I can mount the spinning reel spool in it and have zero twists on the spool. You don't want it that way because when you make a cast the line will twist 1 time for each loop that comes off the spool leaving you with a couple hundred twists between the spool and your lure. Then when you reel it back onto the spool those twists come back out...mostly. Every time you lift your lure out of the water to cast you loose a couple of those twists and if you get a line break you lose them all. In short order, the first hundred foot that comes off your spool ends up twisted on the spool anyway. I prefer to have my twists on the spool and not between the spool and my next PB. Tight lines!

The winding procedure is correct. However there is no reason to tie any kind of spool knot to attach the line. Just touch the end of the line to the center of the arbor, then place a drop or two of superglue on it(I use Zap-A-Gap). Wait 30 seconds, then reel your line on. Works on any spinner from UL to big surf and offshore reels and on aluminium and POM spools.

If you already have your reel wound and having issues, just have somebody walk off all the line down to the spool and with one hand keep the line tight while reeling it all back on. It'll get rid of all the twists.

Sure wish you showed how to run it thru the actual reel and then tied it. Sure I can Tie that knot around a spool but how about the actual rod and reel

Bad video. Thats completely wrong. the diameters difference between your reel spool and line spool will case at leas a twist each time one spiral of line comes off the line spool. The pencil is better because it will replicates your fishing action when you recover line into the spool. Very bad video 🤢🤮

Wind it straight off the spool, this is correct. If you do it off the side of the spool you are adding a twist per loop as you cast

Soft baits are made of VA or other polymers but very rarely silicon as it is to expensive. More research may be need on your part

After spooling, tie your line to a tree or the bumper of your truck, stretch gthe hell out of for awhile, wiind it back 0n.. Done.

I remember pissing my late father-in-law off when I'd spool it "wrong" but I'd let all the line out without anything at the end of the line while trolling and then reel it back in. He said I was wasting time but got really pissed when I asked him how much he was paying me per hour?

Hogwash. If this is such an effective method, why do shops invest in expensive, in-line spooling machines? Why don't they just lay the spool flat on the floor (as described in this video) and load reels from there?

I took a whole college course on this even had my tuition payed by Biden. I have put line on reels forever done 999,999s different ways and the only problem was usually operator error. But you can spool a reel and with nothing on the end of the line let it out the back of a boat while idling and reel it back in. 🎣

I don’t care how you lay your spool, or how you hold your mouth, or how long it has been since you cleaned your toenails, you cannot transfer line from a 3” spool onto a 1-1/2” spool without introducing twist.

Tie a piece of fishing line around a tree with a swivel put line on your reel then your hook attach your hook to the swivel walk your line out once spooled out start reeling it will untwist

Never followed this as first time you cast the line goes out fine but when you reel in it will twist.

If you don't want line twist and you have a boat. Just spool the line on however you want, get on the water cut any lure off pull out about 10 ft or so, put it in the water and open the spool and drive down the lake slow to empty, then spool back on using light finger pressure. If no boat, then spool on however till full, then walk the line out till empty and make sure it is free of any thing to hold it and respool with light finger pressure. No line twist. Just remember you will get line twist anytime you slip your drag. You're also going to get line twist from just normal usage and different lures will make line twist as well. With braid, you don't have to worry as much as you do with fluorocarbon or mono, less memory...

Another point is that monofilament has memory. That's an issue in both winding and casting. Fireline doesn't have much memory so winding and casting isn't nearly as dependent on winding procedure. It's also more sensitive to fish activity. Fireline costs more but it's worth it. JMHO, FWIW, YMMV, etc.
