I am playing this, at the beginning, on a Lowrey organ. Then I play it again on a Yamaha electric piano. This is hymn number 284 in the LDS Hymnal. The lyrics promulgate a doctrine that is not promulgated much anymore in the Mormon church.

Robert, great job! Glad you are still playing. Always enjoyed playing the Lowrey at your house. Hope Jerry is ok. God Bless!
Is this a Mormon hymn? I cannot find it in any of my hymnals
Mormon Children's Song book
Lovely instrument, but not easy to waltz to his tempo
Is it also the case that you have a Walker organ? If yes, will you or are you planning to play and record this hymn on it, too? I'd like to hear how it would sound. Stupendous...maybe?
Yes, I have a Walker organ. I wasn't planning on recording that song on it. If I did I could use the theater sounds or I could use the church sounds from the Principal Chorus. Sometimes I put the same song on each of my instruments but I get most of the hits from the Lowrey groups because a lot of people are in those groups. Hardly anyone is in the Walker group and I get in trouble with someone if I post in the Conn group. I posted in that group with the excuse that the song was from a Conn book.
This is a very beautiful hymn. First, thank you for playing it and posting it on here. I never heard it before. Secondly, when and where do you give concerns? I want to go if this is a good example of how and what you play.
Thank you. I used to give concerts years ago. But I haven't recently.

Glad you like it!
Played in LDS Sunday School before and after the Sacrament Gem and before the Sacrament Hymn was sung and the bread and water blessed when I was a teenager around 1958. When we went to church twice a day every Sunday (Sunday School in the morning, Sacrament Meeting in the evening ), before President Jimmy Carter wanted us to save fuel.

It's been awhile since I played a concert for some people from my local church.
Lowrey Prestige
I have 8 hymnals I cannot find this version. Is this your own composition?
We found different versions in several hymnals too. But this one is from the Hymnal: Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

How many verses does the LDS version have?
3
How do I get the lyrics?
1. The Lord is my Shepherd, no want shall I know. I feed in in green pastures, safe folded I rest. He leadeth my soul where the still waters flow, Restores me when wand'ring, redeems when oppressed, Restores me when wand'ring, redeems when oppressed. 2. Thru the valley and shadow of death though I stray, Since thou art my Guardian, no evil I fear. Thy rod shall defend me, thy staff be my stay. No harm can befall with my Comforter near. No harm can befall with my Comforter near. 3. In the midst of affliction my table is spread. With blessings unmeasured my cup runneth o'er. With perfume and oil thou anointest my head. Oh, what shall I ask of thy providence more? Oh, what shall I ask of thy providence more?
Yes
Does this LDS version have lyrics, too?
Yes
LDS stands for Latter-day Saints or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also known as Mormon. Other denominations have totally different versions.
Yes
I never heard that version before. I looked in my hymnal but it's not in there. Where did you find that song? Oh what does LDS mean btw?
