I'm Sicilian and my ancestry traces back to the Greeks that colonized Sicily before the Romans conquered it. But my skin color is at best what white people look like when they have a suntan. I think all my friends think of me as white because Sicily is part of Italy now and most don't realize it was originally colonized by Greeks. I have friends from many races. Many have been in America only one or two generations and still have a pretty strong cultural connection to geographic origin. I don't feel like I treat them any differently and none of them have ever Express that they think that I do. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out if I'm one of the oppressors or one of the oppressed.
