In this song RM is mocking the people that call themselves “rappers” when they aren’t real ones. It is well known that he, as well as Suga (another BTS member), were underground rappers and they were constantly being looked down or mocked because they became idols "choosing the easiest way". They criticize idols a lot bc many are just performers instead of real artists. (the truth is that their small company was still in bankruptcy and bc of it, the kpop industry never helped them. BTS are different bc they since the beginning were self-made artists and eventually succeeded). I think that this song is a way for him to tell them that no matter what path he took and how people perceive him as an idol, he is still a rapper and he has the skills that they don’t. He basically laughs at them and at how pathetic they are, pointing out how different their leagues are and making them feel insignificant. He even brags about how writing the lyrics took him just a short time and that it is easy for him to do so. We don't know exactly who are the ones he dissing but we know for sure that one of them is B-free, who talked a lot of sht about them. He raps his lines with such ease and skills. Some lines are incredibly genius if get the sarcasm and you analyze all the references and some lines don’t make that much sense, but since he is laughing at them, it does make sense in the end. It isn’t a regular dissing song: it is truly like a joke to him. They are a joke, his situation is a joke and writing this track feels like a joke too. I just love so much how he laughs at them for writing meaningless lyrics about overused topics and stereotypes while he kind of does in this song as a Joke. Like come on, RM killed it. 🔥🔥 Fun fact: RM mentioned that he once wanted to be a poet so no wonder why he's so good. Actually, in Korea he's known as "The Philosopher Who Raps" because his work and incredible insight are admirable when they take a look at his lyrics - that all range from incredible wordplay, poetic metaphors, and a perfect and raw encapsulation of what it means to be human. "Joke" is basically a satire on haters especially those underground rappers who shamed Rm and Yoongi and told them that they can't rap fast coz they are 'idols'.Here in this song Rm shows how he can make rap sound good with meaningless words just like other rappers who can only rap fast with meaningless words.So at the end he left the beat open for his haters to hit him back but no one dared since 2015😂

Lol BTS are seven very different artists in a group, their discography is huge and it is practically based on the different chapters of life and our development as humans, a lot of psychology, a lot of criticism etc.. They actually talk about a lot of important topics such as; mental health, bullying, regret, follow your dreams, self love, etc. Also almost all songs that sound like they are singing about a lover is them singing to their fans called ARMY (acronym for ADORABLE REPRESENTATIVE M. C FOR YOUTH) They are very hardworking, funny, and humble group of men. Also their lyrics are amazing and have deep meaning behind !! ( for many songs we have to watch explanation videos for better understanding and for catching korean references).. They compose, produce, and/or write their own music. They do bring in other producers every once in a while but they are always involved with everything they put out. Each member also worked on individual projects along with their group projects.. Right now they are on pause (because in korea it's mandatory to serve in military for 18 months.. So they enlisted together, separated by a month or two so that they could come out together and can continue... One member completed and returned, six are yet to come.. ) but each member released an solo album before his enlistment . This is also to showcased their individual sound.. They pre recorded so much content just like this song to ensure there's continuous release of contents throughout their absence. Yes, they love to spoil their fans.. RM use to stand for rap monster when he started with BTS. He was the first member. They formed BTS around RM. Originally, it was meant to be a hip hop group. They made a change to Kpop when they brought in Jin as the 4th member. RM is the 4th in the terms of age. 3 members older 3 younger. Now they have gone further than KPop but you will hear them say they are KPop. Though I think a large portion of their fans don’t listen to much other Kpop. RM you would probably enjoy all of his latest album. For different sides of RM I would probably say his collab with Wale ..Change, WildFlower, his collab with Colde Don’t ever say you love me, Groin and nuts. His collab with Balming Tiger Sexy Nukim. He also collaborated with Erykah Badu on Yun and Anderson Paak with Still Life. BTS you might check out Mic Drop the Steve Aoki remix MV see what you think , hip hop lover, Fire, and Not Today I think are probably good choices to start your BTS journey. The 3 rappers do a song called Ddaeng…I would suggest the explanation video by DKDKTV then you don’t need the lyrics Suga and JHope are the other 2 rappers. There are probably some with better ideas of what to check out with them. My JHope suggestions would come more from his mix tape, but I think most suggest Arson from his first solo album. Suga Daechwita is always a hit.

This was released in 2015 on BTS's personal channel. The song and the rest of his first mixtape was only uploaded on soundcloud and to this day is not available on spotify or any other streaming platform. The song is also really hard to translate to simple english lyrics bc there's a lot of important korean context you need to understand what he is saying. The song is basically a joke (hence the title), RM is clapping back at all the ppl who said he wasn't a real rapper anymore after joining BTS and that he couldn't rap fast, the song was writen in stream of consciousness style and the basic take away from it is: I'm a better rapper than all of you, you think good rapping = rapping fast but rapping fast with worldplay but having no substance in your lyrics makes you a trash rapper, but I'm still gonna make a song to prove a point, not only does my rap on every song I write have substance, but I can also do the "mindless" fast rap much better than you and without breaking a sweat. Another great song from this mixtape is Awekening. And the channel Dial 6137 has great lyrics to all BTS work including their solo music, and there's an entire playlist dedicated to RM's first mixtape "RM". Also please react to Still Life by RM with Anderson .Paak, the MV will have subtitles General small tip abt youtube subtitles: by clicking on the cog you can alter the language of your CC, and if the only english subs available are "auto-translated" don't even bother cause it will mess up a lot.

thank you for trying some older songs dont have captions on youtube. when something just says english its always right but if it says auto generated english or another language then its wrong but if it has no english at all please type in the song name and use a lyric video but do not use most viewed lyric channels and dont use videos that say "easy lyrics" most viewed google translate their videos which is always wrong. and the ones with easy lyrics are gonna write the english pronunciation of the korean words example UNNIE is a real word but its in korean so theyll have the korean words spelled out in english but not translated thats to help people pronounce the words when learning the language. please use channels like zaty farhani, dial six one three seven or any channel that pops up when you type in doolsetbangtan translations. doolsetbangtan is a korean fan who translates bts/solo members songs but it is hard to follow for non eng speakers so youd get lost using their site if you read along the song playing so its best to use proper translated lyric videos so you can listen and read at the same time. most music videos wont need that as most videos have the correct captions already but some older ones dont. please react to RM Domodachi ft lil simz turn on the CC. FYI never use genius for korean songs. they always translate wrong the only plus side is some will add context but sometimes thats wrong too cause many bts haters will put misinformation there and not allow fans to change it. if the eng captions are on the music video thats the proper translation genius will never have that. genius is good for english songs only so to see rms verse on megans song would be good since its hard to understand what he says at first but beyond that never use them for korean lyrics/songs.
