❤️
Thank you, everyone, who gave my earlier comment a thumbs up. I'm that same guy who said that comment about it being my father's funeral, and how I was watching it because of his funeral anniversary. The guy with the alias Theo Huxtable😂. Anyhow, thank you all who gave my comment a thumbs up years ago.
To bad there's a freeway running through there now with warehouses and factories all through the place and the developers have been seriously busy building over priced homes by the hundreds and his once secluded cabin now sits at the end of an alley that is used for a tool shed by the county workers . 😢
thats not true at all
@@Blitzykay 😂🤣🤣😅🤣😂🤣😭😭😭😭
@ 21:53-22:05-😮 ice??!!🧊
He squated on yhe lsnd but US government realized he could be useful so the gave him him essentially a life time lease. Brilliant move
Back when living was..living
Dick is an inspiration!Where there is a will there is always a way!He was a real man!❤
Dick Proenneke was a legend. Many of us have a little adventurer inside of us but few have the balls to go out and do it.
Gimme more ☺️❤️. One of the last few documentaries …. Nothing is real anymore!!!
Gimme more ☺️❤️
Intelligent resourceful man, that's always been my dream and I guess this is as close as I get.
This footage begs to be color corrected.
It is what it is. Screw colorization!!
Adam at peace in his true habitat. No Eve to mess it up.
Be a dick ⚡
Don't be a Dick
The best! Love the original footage and sound. I found one video that has been 'remastered', or so they say. I think it's just been ruined. I couldn't finish. So glad to find this!
I come back to this movie every year or so. It inspires me to build my own cabin eventually
Its amazing how those animals accept him and trust him
In the original movie he kills and eats that goat 🤣 talk about take a picture and leave it be ,I don't blame him tho he needed the meat and he used it all hide and everything as usual
Where can you find the original to watch online?
How did he move the logs he cut to his cabin site? Wouldn't they have been too heavy for one man to carry?
If I remember correctly, he floated them down the river and dragged them up with a sled.
He has footage of strapping logs to a backpack. That pack had a strap around his head to help keep it uprignt.
That guy was strong as a bull. You can see it in the shot where he's balancing one of the logs on his shoulder.
How did he find a bird to land on his finger in the middle of Alaska?
@@davidblevins9513the bird was hungry
I'm from New Zealand we live in paradise but wish could go visit Alaska
O.G. survive!
You MUST have the children watch all the episodes of One Man’s Alaska - Dick Proenneke. Absolutely educational and so interesting! It at one time had an entire series on PBS. You may find it on RUclips! He built his own cabin and lived alone in the wilderness! Fascinating!
I like your videos thank you. good job,❤👍
Dick had the best life at twin peaks
This was a better America back then: no invasion from southern border, criminals were in jail & not the improper subject of sympathies, college professors didn't hate America & seek to. undermine her at every lecture.
God's protection on the birds
I have watched him a couple of times. A true blessing to all of us. The purity of nature, of Dick. The Sadness of what man has changed & destroyed. After COVID the full impact of the many evils of man, the chaos man creates, greed. This is how man was intended to live in peace, wo ego. The skills of Dick, such a wide range, come easily to him, with such percision. The work ethic comes naturally for him. Reflecting on American history, the people that built this country, not complaining whinning or blaming the world . Today many are unable to get dressed or comb their hair to go to walmart. Today the young have no life skills, cannot count $$, live wo phone, tv or constant pranks, rudeness,& total disregard for others or God. Man has self destructed, destroying all that is around him. Capitalism does not work, & leads to corruption. Man must b held accountable, live within rules & limits. The gift of this film, gently informs us of what we have lost forever. The balance in life cannot be maintained without respect of all living things. How do we begin to undo what we have done around?
Yes, a lost art for sure. This is how many escape watching him because many desire a more simple life in touch with the Earth and wildlife.
Inspiring, hope I never forget those videos
What a time where you could just do stuff like this
There is more the audience would like to know. How did he wash his clothes, bathe. What was it like sleeping at night in his bed. What sounds would he hear. It's a shame he didn't have a dog, though. He wasn't filming all the time and when he did he could have left the dog in the cabin.
Dogs are bear food, maybe he didn’t think it was fair to make dog stay at home while he went out.
Proenneke was not a suvivalist, he just loved nature and quiet. He also enjoyed good, nice people. Read his journals (NOT the biography by Sam Keith). .They are extremely detailed. Before you do, understand these are not doctored up to appeal to the masses; the journals are what he wrote and how he wrote it You wil either love them and learn a ton, or they will not be your thing.
@@Eiliasaiden I know he wasn't a survivalist. But there is more that can be added to this story in television documentary using his journals. I'm not much into reading journals. Every year our local PBS runs his story for at least a decade that I can remember. It never seems to get old.
Can't do this anymore. IRS is up your ass.
I watched this all the time as a kid. They don't make them like Dick anymore. What a workhorse
The amount of work this guy can do!!! He's a machine. They don't make them like that much anymore!
This gives peace of mind The man was The salt Earth
The outdoors of nature……the true facts of life.
It’s funny how men named “Babe” was a thing back then. “Babe and I scrambled over clatter rocks up to the hogback where we built a cache building!” You don’t hear that anymore….. Imagine poor Dick having some wife around on the homestead complaining that he’s not making her feel special …😂
Was a true legend
This man fascinates me!
Talented and skilled
Incredible skills . Look at the fine way h e makes the double door hinges with simple tools.
It's the first time I've heard of the term 'rush rat'... but I knew right away what it meant! This is a nice documentary.
Should be played in schools.
Awesome, first time ive seen this guy and his work.
Did dick have to buy the land? I’m curious about that
I'm here because of Joe Rogan.
Touche
Me too 😄
Bro Rogan 4 sure
😂😂 😂💀 here cause of Joe Rogan 😅
Same!👍
Legend
What a Dick he was!
His guy had balls.
Life like this is great! Doesn’t get any better than living in and close to nature!!!❤️🙏
