Despite women’s immeasurable contributions to the world, she has been omitted from the history books. Too few know a 16-year-old girl rode triple the distance of Paul Revere’s notable ride during the American Revolution or just how many women fought in war throughout time without mention of her heroics as it was not appropriate for a female to be on the battlefields - where she’s always been. As historian Linda Grant de Pauw writes: “…when the wars are over and the songs are sung, women disappear.” This is her anthem.
