Thanks for your comments MM, I actually chuckled a bit when I read it because it is so abt and honestly true. The video was taken many years ago and we are working on a newly updated series of videos for 2025. Our older patterns will still be secured by the Buckle & Strap system, but the the newer 2025 patterns will feature our New Velcro Quick Install method. It eliminates the buckles and straps and relies on a special "Hook" velcro style fastener that is quick to install and make future adjustments very simple. - Again, you're right, the quality of content is really important these days and TBH, we published this to act as a Place Holder until the new 2025 (Q1) content became available simply because the original content was informative. - Thanks Again for your comments, we really appreciate them and we look forward to adding higher res videos in '25!

We’re happy you remarked on the bungee cord. Based on our research of various car manufacturers and the plastic trims that are used on the side of the seat, we assessed that using a larger diameter bungee cord would be a bit difficult for the average installer to tuck in between the trim and the side wall of the seat cushion. (Some Car and Truck manufacturers don’t leave much space to tuck a larger bungee cord in there) The whole idea of the improved install system was to provide an enhanced positive experience for any installer of Northwest Seat Covers. The Bungee Cord is used more as a welting that keeps the side of the seat covers securely in-place between the plastic trim and the side of the seat cushion - that is it’s main function. The other function is to simply ensure that the bottom of the cushion cover Hugs the lower perimeter of the original seat cushion to keep the Front Security Flap nice and taught and eliminate any chance of the front of the cushion cover from rising up from under the front edge of the seat. This combination of the Velcro style fasteners and the use of the measured diameter of the bungee cord provide customers with an easy install method that is designed to reduce seat covers installs by more than 50%.

It was developed and incorporated into the engineering of our seat covers so, that customers would be able to Self-Install anywhere in the world without the services of a professional installer.
