Dry Sprinkler Inspection
Просмотров 25 тыс.3 года назад
A dry sprinkler system is pressurized with air or nitrogen, rather than having the pipes constantly filled with water. These systems often cover unheated spaces like freezers, attics, or an outdoor loading dock. The main control valve and riser are usually located in a heated space such as a maintenance room, or closet. The pressurized dry-pipe valve prevents water from entering the system unti...

6 Year Fire Extinguisher Maintenance
Great job sir
Thank you so much!
is the last system also known as a semi automatic dry
Good content bro let's teach the world 🌎 about fire safety measures
I know this is geared towards industrial folks, but this really helps for understanding the types of fire supression systems when studying for the CISSP (cybersecurity cert) Why is this on a cybersecurity exam you ask? Well in many cases security goes well beyond just 1's and 0's and often involves safety planning and physical security as well.
Curious how much that costs?
Thank you very much mister
You're welcome! Thank you for the comment.
Very helpful. What about deluge systems?
Thank you for the comment, we're happy it was helpful! We are planning to do an informational video on deluge systems in the future.
Thank you for the video I think I will share this with several of Directors of Maintenance I come across so they can see what a technician is supposed to do.
You're welcome! Hopefully it helps educate people on kitchen suppression inspections.
Uh oh, somebody forgot to leak-check the fire extinguisher! Per NFPA 10 ch 7.
Such a good video ❤
Thank you so much!
Got a question for you does new information state a side wall sprinkler can be effectively installed in a dead air space? Thoughts please thank you
Great demonstration!
Thank you for letting us know! We appreciate it.
here is a question for you as you probably know in new installations anti freeze is frowned upon it seems possble that a fire hose can be attached to the sprinkler system so my question to you is could a dry sprinkler system be attached to a fire hose valve to function as a dry hose valve? thoughts please thank you
@Fredengle thank you for the question and we hope this answers it for you - Yes, you can have a dry pipe system with a hose connection, similar to a setup in a parking garage where there's a hose attachment on each floor. However, an antifreeze system will not have a hose attachment. it's more typically used in localized applications, like a hotel foyer or over a garbage crusher.
hI my new question for you is could a hose be connected to a pre action system?
من افضل النظمه اللي اشتغلت فيها
Why do you disassemble the valve _after_ testing its function? This way there's no opportunity to notice that the reassembly is incorrect in a way that reduces flow.
I thought that you also had to use a rubber mallet to loosen the powder inside the extinguisher from settling during the last 12 months. No?
Aqe,🧯
Great explanation! Short and simple! Thanks!
Thank you, we appreciate the feedback and we're happy it helped you out!
Thank you that was very informative!!!
You're welcome, and thank you for letting us know the content helped you out, we appreciate it!
Great video, Studying for my CISSP this helped me understand better the 3 systems thanks a lot.
Thank you - we're happy our video helped you out. Good luck on your CISSP!
😁 the same ---> CISSP exam purposes
For my network+ studies thank you!
You're welcome!
How safe is it without the protection gage
Protection gauge?
What tool is used to reach lights without using a ladder?
For monthly inspections, our techs use an extendable paint pole with a screw in the end to reach higher exit & emergency lights.
Only reliable and victaulic make a pre action “valve”. That particular system you have is a tyco and Viking is the same thing. They don’t make a pre action “valve”. There systems consist of a deluge valve with a check valve on top of it for the supervisory air which also consists of having a solenoid valve to make it single interlock and some have dry pilot actuators right after the solenoid to make it a double interlock.
Any chance you could cover inert gas systems?
Thank you for the comment, and great idea! We'll see if we can come up with a video that explains these systems. Keep checking in and be sure to subscribe so you don't miss any new video updates!
awesome video, safety steve!! thank you!
You are welcome! Thank you for letting us know. Safety Steve will be happy!
Thanks
You're welcome!
you had residual and static water pressures backwards. Static is no flow. Residual is 2" drain test water flow.
Good concise explanation. Thanks for the information.
You're welcome! Thanks for letting us know that our video helped you out, and for commenting!
Good vid.
Thank you, we appreciate it!
Great Video thank you mate
You're welcome, we're happy you enjoyed it!
What about verifying electric is off as well.
The breaker tripped when testing
thanks for the video, I am preparing for CISSP and this material is so good to make us understand it.
You're welcome! We hope this helps in learning the different types of systems. Good luck on your CISSP!
is there a way I can test the water flow switch without tripping the Dry Valve? thanks..
Yes, there is a way to test the flow switch and not trip the valve. Depending on where you live and the regulations in your area, we recommend to have your inspector there to perform the test.
1 Put the system on test call alarm company. 2 close the piv or backflow valve. 3 close the control valve. At the alarm valve Make note of the alarm panel readings for each supervised device ie. backflow or piv. Control valve. Close the air supply ball valve to the Alarm valve located at the compressor. 4 Open the water flow device/Switch with the key provided by the manufacturer. 5 manually engage and hold down the stick lever in the middle of the device for At least two minutes make note of the time detection is achieved. Revers the process. Clear the panel.
Many dry pipe valves have an alarm test valve. It comes from the bottom side of the clapper and goes into a tee that feeds the high pressure switch (water flow switch). It allows you to force water into the pressure switch with no risk of tripping the system.
Theres no flow switch on a dry riser. Youre talking about a wet system. You can trip the flow switch manually by opening the cover and pressing down on the little black lever.
Good sir
Thanks for the video
You're welcome! Thank you for commenting.
The sprinkler head wrench was missing too.
That's why we check on inspections, just to make sure.
I ve seen no videos explaining how to test the output voltage Load of an Exite sign. there are no tutorials on diagnosing most of the issues.what if the sign keeps calling for charge?
Extremely helpful. Thank you for posting
You're welcome, thanks for commenting, and we're happy it was helpful for you!
Between this video, and the ones done by FireAlarmDude on the servicing of fire extinguishers, it looks like something a person can do at home if they have the right stuff, even if it's not encouraged for insurance purposes. O-rings, valve stems, and pressure gauges are all pretty common online, as is the adapter for charging the system with nitrogen.
Anybody could do this with the right equipment, and you really don't need that much equipment. Just be aware that in some states/jurisdictions you have to have a license to do this commercially.
I like that !
He doesn't need to mallet the head on like that, that's very unnecessary lol
Sometimes they are a bitch to get off
If you smack the head of the extinguisher too hard, it may bend and not work properly.
Question what states do you guys service in do service in Maine?
Hi Zachary, we service the Ohio market and some areas in Kentucky and Indiana that are close to Cincinnati.
what licensing is required for this inspection?
K-license
You would need to have a valid Pre-engineered Fire Suppression license from the State of Ohio to be able to perform these types of inspections.
I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed with this comment section lol
Me too 😂😂
Why is there a halon extinguisher
