Apparently every Surfing Spot in Christchurch was working good today! Freezing day!!! Winds have been blowing from SW - S for the whole day. Swell was from the E & a few surfers were out covered with rubber. [ PLEASE LIKE & SUBSCRIBE ]

The mid winter New Brighton Longboard Surfing Competition took place at the pier last month. The weather was horrible (including some raining) but the vibes were, as usual, amazing! Good fun yesterday at Sumner Beach. Longboards, middle length and SUP boards were riding some good piling up waves. After a huge East Swell the ocean became more tidy. Finally decided to edit this shots I took a couple of month ago. Great event at Sumner Beach. Conditions were ok but the waves were too far away from the shore, pretty hard to get them on the camera. 06/06/2024 GREAT LONGBOARD SURFING LEVEL at Sumner last Thursday. Jack Tyro and a few great surfers were out, I also got some shots from a few Christchurch legend surfers. Beautiful autumn day at The New Brigthon Republic. Some swell still in the water and winds were off shore until midday. In the water we can see 2 legends surfing. It was actually soooo good! Had my best session of the year so far in chch. I actually surfed other bank a bit norther. Indeed there is click bite on the title and for the west this waves are crap 🤣 but is what we get in chch haha! Thanks for the comment mate!

Hi, another chill clip. Nice wave today, similar size here in Napier. Do you know how they pick a day when there is surf before the comp?
I heard about this competition a week ago. I assume they pick up a day and then they run the comp. I don't think there is a window of days were they pick up the best conditions. Pretty sure they just select a day and they run it with the conditions that day brings. Not 100% sure though. Thanks for your comment!
