NIce core, there is also UY42 model available, which is even bigger. What model of IGBT's were used?
CM600s Old ones, still in good working condition tho
How you can obtain those massive ferrite core? Do you make it yourself?
Bought it on eBay for like $80 UY35 core Works fine between 10-20Khz Anything more than that and u won't allow the core to fully saturate

How long does the battery last ?
If u leave it on continuously, a few minutes
The magnetron isnt oscillating. The bulb is just lighting up from the HV supply (some HF AC gets capacitively coupled through the diodes and into the lamp)
@@inductivelycoupledplasma6207 yep the glow is not caused by any microwaves but rather a very small current from the high voltage Since the cathode isn't hot to allow anything to conduct across the vacuum
If ya don't get shades made for I. R. Laser protection. Say goodbye to you're eyesight. Just a slight reflection from across the room and you are done.

is the magnifier system really efficient and really improves the arc length ?
The magnifier set up, done right, is so awesome. U get much higher output voltages. In my case adding an exact copy of the resonator bottom coil more than doubles, sometimes even 3-4x the arc length compared to a single secondary coil. At the cost of the white bottom primary coil pulling a lot more current. Whole circuit draws about 2-2.5 thousand watts. Currently working on a new version that is dual resonant (more efficient) and has new MOSFETs that can handle 850V. That video was about 460V input. If it all works this might be able to do 8-10ft arcs

@@LegitDlr idk what circuit ur using to drive it, but assuming u have a similar Full bridge inverter design, it will definitely work Just keep the coils spaced apart enough and keep the wire connecting the 2 heavily insulated

Do the math, it will likely be a few milliamps

Yeah definitely don't do what I did lol I kept the open HV wire away from everything else and this was just a quick test not the permanent set up

What's the voltage, if this could be encased to the point of safety and still out do lithium ion batteries then this could be a very useful technology, although that depends on the improvement, 5% increase isn't useful much

nothing is clear why you don't use a 5000A 1200V IGBT and refrigerator sized ferrite to power this magnetron
