I kinda feel like they are a bit of bad drivers, project liftoff can move around, but they just quickly bump into a while when they dont have much momentum, and then destroy it, so its easy to get attacked

For those wondering, that overhead torch is the hacksmith gen 1 minisaber. at full blast it gets up to 2500° F according to the manufacturer, which is the melting point of some steels. you can get them on their shop for like 50 bucks.

I wish these competitions would get rid of the no wedge bot rule. It severely benefits spinners, and hinders all the unique bots that can do a lot better vs a wedge. Spinners are fun but it is no fun seeing them 90% of the time.

Why are they calling the corners pink and blue when they're clearly light red and turqoise?

some of those designs just hurt my brain ... CAN'T they see it DOESN'T WORK??? that dynamic duo is one of them ... don't they have eyes? all you need to make it WORK properly, is to add 2 long forks on each side. similar to that jelly robot has, only metal. i don't know all the bot names, but lot of verticals have perfect forks so they can control their opponent, if they miss, then those forks still get stuck under them and will correct the enemy right in front of them. those 4 short forks DOESN'T WORK and they just can't see it ... it really hurts my brain seeing people struggle with common sense. there were some vertical spinners aswell that don't have the works, so they just bounce around and miss 99% of their hits. specially in lower weight classes, you can't have bot without forks as they're too sensitive and will bounce around, so you need better method to control the opponent and longer forks are best way of doing that, but they just can't get it thru their head .. it's so painful to watch. chainsaw kitty is actually good example of how you should make those forks, it's so good for controlling the opponent and it makes it so easy to get good hits. one look at that bot and i instantly knew it's effective, one look at dynamic duo .. and i knew it doesn't work.

Jamison's only issue is that he often don't take the shot, he had so many PERFECT shots, but he never took them. he could have hit the wheel at least 3 times and the weapon arm like 10 times, but he didn't even take it. in one recent match it costed him the win, because he didn't use his weapon. it's old video, so idoub Jamison is reading it, but if you are, here's an idea for you: add additional "weapon" behind the plow, kind of like a hook that sticks upwards, use it vs horizontals to jam their weapon and then use the hammersaw.

those "melty brain" bots really need to work on making the bot more controllable, one good way is making a "stop movement" button, which stops the bot from moving, while keeping it spinning. for that you need to have small laser sensor (like on computer mice) that keeps track of when bot is moving or not compared to environment. this would greatly help keep it from bouncing into walls all the time

i keep thinking, why doesn't anyone make a spinner that has torque AND speed? you could have twin-motors or basic gearbox to achieve this. kind of same principle as hybrid cars, they use electric to start moving from stand still to save fuel, which gives really good acceleration and torque and after certain speed petrol engine takes over. only in bots both would be electric motors. use hub motors that are attached to eachother. one just lightweight for torque and other for speed. torque motor will turn off to save power after it reaches certain speed. hard to explain, but anyone with common sense should get my point. i'm not sure if gearbox would work, cuz there's too much that can go wrong, belts / chains can nudge off or the gearbox itself can break or something, but i have really good idea how to make it. similar to what bicycles use, but instead of chain moving, the gears would move. a small piston can push/pull the gears to change between torque / speed. WHY would anyone want this? because this way if weapon gets jammed or you get stuck, you can put it onto torque mode and bruteforce it. somewhere around hour 8 one bot got stuck on its face and their weapon didn't have enough torque to move it back on wheels, that's one situation where it comes in handy.

5:15:30 i'm telling you that this is one of the most authistic bots i have ever seen. it's dumb and not funny and not interesting. same principle as that munk3y throwing p0op is funny to them, but not to humans if you get hit in the face with it. you wouldn't be laughing if you have munk3y po() in your face. this is how lame this bot is

IDEA: add danger zones into the mix, this will make it more interesting and control bots will become more effective. in one corner there's house bot and if you push your opponent into the house bot (not a random flip, but controlled push), then house bot will attack the pushed bot for 10 seconds. in other corner, there should be random hazard, it could be some kind of a grinder, hammer, hammer-saw, powerful flipper, flamethrower, blowtorch ...etc, so if you push your opponent into it, then hazard becomes active. if some bots randomly bounce around due gyroscoping movement or because of their weapon, then this doesn't count and hazard won't activate. it should only activate if one bot pushes other one into it by using control, not random flips or throws. kind of like a pin, but you push them into the hazard. this would be so much more fun and control bots would make more sense.

i came up with interesting idea for spinners, why not use compressed gas to make the spinner move? this way you don't have to worry about motor, belt or chain breaking. compressed gas has some serious power. you can have a small compressed air or other gas tank with focused nozzle and spinner should have a small area that is kind of like a fan, so it will really speed up. it should be enough to make it spin as fast as motor-spinners, maybe even faster.

i don't understand why there are so many dummies who make their bots so TWITCHY that it becomes impossible to control? it's like in online games .. all people do is RUSH, they think faster is better ... but they don't have enough brain to self-analyze and notice that faster is NOT better. stop putting so powerful motors or change gear ratio. make bots slower and more stable. control always wins over speed. i see SO MANY bots that just twitch around entire match and can't even get 1 hit due control issues. or maybe they're just bashing buttons and have no idea how to control a bot .. go figure. probably both. it's shocking how they manage to build a bot, but have no idea how to control them.

I just noticed the insane turning speed of Megatron. Those treads might be more vulnerable than protected single wheels but it looks like they improve mobility a lot.

silent spring don't need no wedge against a horizontal

chonkiv needs to have some teeth on top of the spinner aswell, this would insure that when bots pop on top of chonkiv, they will get grinded aswell, it could deal some serious damage to wheels. otherwise its nice to see someone finally executing such design almost perfectly. extra weight and "legs" make sure its stable, its great design in general.

Jamison is usually good at figuring stuff out, but he shouldn't have slammed into it constant. he should have tried and tap on it with hammer-saw, go close and then slam it. better than what the outcome was. most likely he would have broken his weapon, but it's better than having his bot ripped to pieces. he could have taken that pipe off, so chonkiv would have had hard time telling which direction to move in. no idea why he never even tried with the hammer-saw

6:18:51 weapon didn't come off due damage, it was builder's incompetence. i saw that bot either earlier on this stream or elsewhere and you could see on the side, that nut holding the beater bar was shaking and undoing itself due vibrations. builder just doesn't understand vibrations and that it can undo a nut if it's not attached properly. easiest way to fix this, is to either use any kind of tape or something sticky, but not actual glue, cuz you have to be able to undo it later.

voices are vey annoying

tip to builders: one of the main issues i see very often, is where wheel gets jammed. why not fix this by using motors and/or gears to give it more torque instead of speed? in case you haven't noticed, slower bots with more precision always win the precision game, there's no point having super fast bot .. you'll only slam it into walls. like one of them who was about to win and slammed himself into wall and then his fork got stuck under it. always go for torque over speed. don't make it super slow, you need just enough speed to be able to turn around fast enough.

I hope we get to see a rematch of this someday- both bots are SO much better nowadays.
