SU WR had beat the Nicholls CB down the sideline and the Nicholls CB grabbed his shoulder pads to imped his path to catch the ball and most likely keep going for over a 40 yard TD and the ref looking right at it acts like there was no reason for him to pull that flag out. Nothing about JSU's women can be associated with its preseason rankings. The coaches and all but maybe 2 players are gone and she rebuilt the team after recruiting season. AAMU recruited during the season, bringing over some of her UAPB players with some additional players. Coach Pugh sounds real confident in her squad and I am use to her being pretty modest.

Additionally, our game day operations and atmosphere is BAD!! We need to clean house in the aspect. So many people have commented and even visitors are explaining their bad experiences. In my opinion because the nature of these issues have remained consistent through our various leadership changes, You have to point to those who have remained constant through the various leadership changes. It’s time to release these folks to the industry.

If we lose badly to Grambling I think it’s time to pull together a shortlist of candidates for the HC role. In my opinion this is the first year since we’ve opened the stadium that as a fanbase we are in unison having real expectations to win a championship. You can’t ask for peoples support, spending thousands of dollars, traveling to games and not expect the criticism. We are tired and don’t want excuses we want results.

Two SU Alma Mater stories: My kids went basically everywhere me and my wife went, including alumni meeting. When my daughter was in elementary school, she was standing next to an alum when we closed the meeting singing the alma mater. He only knew some of the words and when he said the wrong thing, she looked at him and said "That's not the words!". Everyone fell out laughing that this elementary school kid knew our alma mater and a over an decade alum didn't. When I was a Freshmen at Southern, my seminar class teacher was going over the school songs. As a Freshman, we had to wear a band t-shirt everyday. So, she saw that I was in the band and asked me to sing the alma mater and fight song in front of the class, so the class would know how the lyrics flowed. I was so glad that I had already learned the words in Band Camp. 🤣 Nonetheless, I have finally gotten out of my feeling about how few people in the stands know the alma mater to sing along with the band after the game. Most just hold their hand/finger up and listen. I use to think after a few games more people would sharpen up and join me. NOT!! 🤣

I can relate to Coach's comment about his wife about him and his son. My wife told me one time when my son was in high school that I needed to tell my him more positive feedback when I was working with him with his baseball. I coach, work with bandsmen and teach in a improve weakness and perfect strengths mode. So, there is a constant push to improve. It was how I was coached and it was how I trained myself in the classroom, in music and in athletics. But, generations 30 year plus from us needs to hear more compliments, even when they are ok with correction. I often told those that I worked with in various avenues: Do it wrong and we're here long; Do it right and it's a light night. 🤣

I believe the SWAC moving to playing 10 of its 11 SWAC opponents is a positive step because the top baseball program have expressed a desire to play the better programs in the cross-division. They even took steps to schedule games against each other before conference play. Since the home and home is being removed during the season within the SWAC, it doesn't make sense that we couldn't add an 11 conference game series, so as to allow everyone to play everyone every year. However, based on the SWAC's failures in scheduling its conference football and basketball games, I expect to see some illogical unfair unbalanced scheduling in baseball too. Example, in football, we schedule stupid stuff like a school having to go to both teams in a state or have both teams in a state come to them. The logical thing is to have a team from another state come to you and you travel to the other team in that state. Basketball plays everyone, but some teams only play once. And basketball schedules some of its biggest games during weekends when there are no students on campus. So, your biggest paydays are you lowest paydays. SWAC scheduling doesn't use logic. Yes, keep the Cactus Jack and Andre Dawson showcases. Those are outstanding exposures for our schools and our conference on platforms such as ESPN and MLB that we don't receive elsewhere. This is key to our programs generating momentum to attract even better talent and raise the play within our conference even higher. I wonder if this new format will impact SWAC teams scheduling regional non-conference competition and games against the weaker so called Power 5 schools to allow us to raise our team and conference RPI ratings higher and higher.
