It is always possible, though perhaps not very probable, that the box, the LWB, and the cards are a mis-match. You never know what you're gonna get on places like eBay. Just seeing numerous youtube vids of people with multiple yellow box decks -- there is always a chance that the person who had various decks mixed them up before selling. If people are collecting different editions now, who's to say they didn't do that 20-30 years ago as well? Also, the LWBs were printed separately from the decks. So it is very likely that the LWB included in the box originally was printed long before the actual deck. I doubt US Games would have thrown out perfectly good cartons of LWBs for the mere fact that 40 years later it would confuse collector's trying to date a deck. Question: Yellow box, no "registered" symbol on front after the word "deck", made in Switzerland, Muller & Cie, copyright on back of box on bottom, no ISBNs to be found anywhere, cards have small copyrights on them. No LWB. Magician on cover must have used lots of sunblock. Approx year? Assuming not a mismatch. Post-1975, right? Pre or post 1980? Not sure. thnx

thanks for this comparison, now a reproduction is out and I just received my 1989 version and was wondering if I should purchase the 1975 edition reproduction, but they look so very much alike. I am surprised they look so similar and wonder why they reproduced both editions if the images are virtually the same. I always wanted this original, but just didn't want to spend the money :) thanks so much very helpful.

I picked up my copy at an SF convention just after publication, and it has been my go-to deck ever since. As an SF fan, and knowing many of the artists ive found it easy to use in traditional spreads, and it has an extra dimension when reading.

I got this on order from Tarot Collectibles and I can't wait to put it down next to El Gran Tarot Esoterico and the Balbi Tarot. I love how this deck mixes the symbolism between Picard and RWS minor arcana attributions. I have small hands so I know I will appreciate using a small deck too. It looks like a real beauty and I just can't wait to get it here. Thanks for reviewing it.

I get like that with old books, they are kinda musty.. that’s not a scarf.. it hangs on the wall of your man cave.. the incense is opium. The book is the first universal books edition of the pictorial key to the tarot. pictorial key.

I have the first edition and first printing of this deck. It is amazing. A bit more detailed and saturated than my other printings. I don't think the Blue Box is any better than this first printing from images I've seen. Card stock is buttery and papery and the detail spectacular. It's a blushing Fool and HP. WB 4§8 Park Avenue NY NY Says is was reissued in collaboration with Rider and Company: London. There is no printing number on the inside cover so that's why I think it was the first printing. Any thoughts? Also, I have one of those promotional box sets with 2 paper back books on the tarot and one deck of the RWS AGMeuller and printed in Switzerland expressly for US Games. It's still in the shrink wrap. No copyright of course. I bet you have one of these sets.

The Knapp Hall refers to Manly P Hall and J. Augustine Knapp. im sure you know that Manly Hall wrote The Secret Teachings of all ages. I am extreamly suprised nobody else in these comments has said this. Manly came up with the concept, He used newer diagrams in the pips etc, J. Knapp is the artist and what a great one. He drew all of the illustrations in the STOAA too. The organisation that published these is Manly Halls instistute that he set up when he was alive. The Philosophical Research Society. Fun facts, manly was rumoured to be a Ladyman and was robbed at the very end of his life and again rumoured to have been murdered. Such and interesting man and life story, right up to the last day.

I think that the word you're groping for is "Virgin" because that's the word Barbara Walker uses in the subtitle of her book, The Skeptical Feminist: Discovering the Virgin, Mother, and Crone.

I do think they would be harshly judgmental and think I was worshipping the devil. My sister would have a coronary and probably disown me.
