These people are victims of Gothard. They believed a man who was never married and never had any kids to tell them how to live their lives. They believed his bullshit and lived the rules and manipulation and put all those innocent children through that- blanket training- extreme fear of God- home schooling manipulated scripture rather than real school work- making women feel like they are less than men and have to be home makers and have more kids than they can manage- thelist goes on- Its horrifying. I feel bad for them, the kids, and all the families manipulated by religious crazies who think they are above others in some way. God loves all his children. We all have the ability to speak with God through our spirit and its such a sad situation to see people manipulated to live their lives a certain way and push ideologies on their children out of fear. I’m not sure how these two can criticize JB or Jana for anything. When they were newlyweds Derrick wasn’t a stellar husband. Personally I was never a fan of Derrick and if Jana wanted a wedding that was focused on her and without the drama in inviting her sister, good for her. They got their wedding day with everything they wanted and Jana has waited a long time and has done a lot for her siblings and family. I love seeing that Jana had so many things that shows she’s changed and possibly the family has, like her dress, dancing, the kisses. I used to watch their show "religiously". I used to look up to them. Then I saw Shiny Happy People. What an eye opener ... Not to mention their eldest son's perversions and legal woes. I remember their show and thought it was interesting at first but as it went on it just got worse. But I at first thought wow that is a lot of kids.. but then I thought it was strange when I remember watching an episode about how one of the girls explained that their dad was like a chaperone on their dates and no kissing and whatever else between prospective suitors to his daughters. I just thought omg that is a bit much I understand it’s good to to be a protective father but he just made it look strange and as if he didn’t trust them to make those decisions on their own and now I am not surprised that some of their kids are unfortunately distance themselves and their kids from them.
