After returning from my short chase on the Bessemer, I checked on the NS Eastbound Mixed freight to see if it was still parked east of Conneaut on the siding. Too my surprise I saw that not only was the Mixed freight still parked, but a westbound was approaching.

In a pleasant surprise, CSX ran a loaded Coal Train east through Conneaut Ohio after it ran up the Youngstown Line. This Coal was heading to Buffalo and will likely to exported to Canada for Steelmaking.

With CSX being quiet as soon as I heard Norfolk Southern I drove to the eastern bank of Conneaut Creek and caught this Eastbound.

Certainly an unusual consist. CN Power leading and UP mid DPU's made for an interesting catch on this empty Ethanol train.

When I heard that there was a Windmill Blade train coming into Erie on CSX and would be leaving on the Buffalo and Pittsburgh I thought it might be worth seeing. And it was.

CSX has rerouted two manifests, originally four, due to construction in Baltimore. The temporary rerouting has increased traffic on the Youngstown line. This was the result of me going out on a hunch.

I've gotten pretty got about catching Norfolk Southern in Conneaut. This westbound mixed freight had empty Coke hoppers, from a contract to haul Coke to Ashtabula Harbor, or what's left of it.
