Unfortunately for the entirety of the comment section I’m a kyoru shipper- but hear me out here. I kinda wanted Kyo to get mad at yuki out of jealously or smth (-at this point Yuki used to be crushing on Tohru but realised she didn’t have the same feelings- he then realised that a crush was just a label for how he was feeling-) they got into some form of an argument and that’s how Yuki reveals that he sees Tohru as a mother figure, shocking Kyo. I would’ve preferred that to the little chat he had on the steps of the school with you’re one who’s name I keep forgetting.

I just found this video in my recommendation the comment section is filled with arguments over this topic 😂 The author did played his cards perfectly he wanted the viewers attention that's why he always been teasing the viewers that it was a love triangle If kyo accepted kagura audience would have shipped toharu x yuki (the cap scene from childhood) But kyo didn't right! Toharu is only person who truly acceps kyo ( even in the story she was affectionated towards cat sprit because it was left alone) The author written the characters in such a way to make them compatible and did played with audience emotions For me yuki has been the main protagonist of the story(but he is not IT'S Toharu ). besides toharu yuki has been the purest person he is not a loser like kyo Author made it clear that yuki became a strong person and can take care of himself (thanks to toharu) but kyo need toharu support for the rest of his life because he is SUCH A DAMN LOSER I also shipped yuki x roharu but the damn author played his card pretty well FUCK HIM Iam a matured person so i can accept how the series ended

platonic or not, one thing that makes this ship superior is they have a precious childhood moment. i'm a sucker for those kind of trope where they met as kids and see each other again when they're already a lot older. even if the characters were not actually childhood friends as long as there's a mutual childhood moment, it makes the ship superior. i like kyoru and we know how yuki see tohru later on in the series but i just got tired of the "tsundere x nice girl" type of trope. that's why i appreciate shoujo with diff kinds of male love interest like with horimiya or little monster aside from the typical tsundere type

It broke my heart when I knew that Yuki isn't a male lead not even a candidate. I didn't continue watching since then and gradually forgot the storyline. Even though my friend tried to convince that SS2 is so good, Yuki's pair is cute, but I still cannot get over this.

In season 1 yuki started having feelings for tohru but yuki knows that kyo also have feelings for tohru.At first yuki was competitive on winning tohru over but in season 2 he realised that tohru have secret feelings for kyo, thats when yuki started to let her go there is also one seen in season 2 where yuki cries while kissing tohru's forehead it symbolise that yuki was finally letting her go but ofc he cant moveon really easily so he started gaslighting his self into thinking that he only see tohru as a mother figure but in the process he met machi and he fell in love but it does'nt change the fact that tohru was his firstlove.The whole mother figure thing was a lie if you bilieve that it means you believe more on what you hear than what you see...remember lips can tell a hundred lies but the eyes...the eyes never lie😊

I ship tohru with yuki since the beginning, but my friend told me what happens, and when you think about it, yuki was confused about what he felt and wanted a relationship where you give and and they give back but he felt that tohru was the only one giving so he ignored what he felt and convinced himself that he loved her like a mother instead of how he really felt and that he thought that kyo was better for her so he chose what he thought was better for her he didn't realize that he gave tohru all she needed I think he still likes her but tries to ignore it They truly deserve to be together I am so sad the author did not realize they were perfect for each other and that she did what she wanted and not what was better for the story I think that if they have a next life they will stay together then their are so many reasons why to should be together that I could be writing for days I do not care what people think I will ship them to the day I die I will never ship tohru with kyo even if it is canon yuki and tohru deserve the world and I will ship yuki x tohru forever I fell yuki dose not truly love machi and he only tried to love her to try to forget tohru I fell that kyo and tohru will get separated because they have nothing in common and once this happens tohru will get with yuki please do not take this the wrong way I do not wish to start a war but yuki x tohru forever Note I hate machi she ruined my ship but I have hope that one day yuki and tohru will get together ❤️
