What a useless video
I want to learn all this
Stock Club Car DS MCOR or potentiameter has to be matched with Controllers that are 6k ohms - 0 ohms. To bad you guys did'nt explain any tech details on converting 36 -48 Volts. Also it would have been nice to explain solar charging LFP batteries and how the resistor is wired to the contactor. Why did you choose the "Eagles" ? BigBattery has other choices that may fit the narrow chassis of the Pre 2004 Club Car. I hope you put more video content on this project.
How much is the vehicle and how can I contact you
Hi, thanks for reaching out! You can get in touch with Carlos Cauton (C.Cauton@BigBattery.com) by email and he'd be happy to discuss pricing and availability with you.
I have two 36 volt Gators on my E-Z-Go with 1900 watts of solar
Can the additional battery stacks be flipped so that the connecting cables don't have to snake behind the stack back to the main stack? - ie, why use a 4' long cable when you could flip the battery stack so the terminals are much closer, using a much shorter cable? Would clean up the install - heck, why not sell a matching conduit for a secure path to run the cables from stack to stack? Just not thought thru
What the hell, redfoo went from LMFAO to making golf carts?
I think it's just his cart not like his business or something
Not bad
What was the average speed?
Hi, thanks for your question. We were averaging around 18 - 22 mph throughout the range test. Typically, stock golf carts see top speeds between 15 - 20 mph, so we wanted to make sure we stayed around that range in order to see a true comparison of the range benefits of switching to lithium. Feel free to check out our 48V HUSKY 2 kits right here (bigbattery.com/golf-carts/) and give us a call at (818) 280-3091 if you have any questions!
How would this work on a food trailer?
Hi, thanks for your question. These systems would be installed and operated very similarly in a truck or tow-behind trailer. As long as your trailer's battery compartment is large enough to support the installation of your desired lithium system, you would simply be replacing the auxiliary power system with your new BigBattery set up, similar to what you see in the video. We have a wide range of kits at different capacities and voltages so however big or small your system needs to be, we can set you up with a tailored solution specifically for your trailer. Feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email at Sales@BigBattery.com, and a member of our team here can discuss your current set up in-depth and offer a personalized recommendation for you!
Dont buy these inverters. They are faulty. There PCBs are low quality, they are unsafe, under perform and even fry themselves out causing damage to your high availability systems. Manufacture gets around this by requiring their customers to send the known defective units back to their warehouse at the customer’s expense and relying on statistics that show customer rather spend that money on a 3rd party product instead. Therefore shows successfully business when in fact its clearly fraud. Stay Away. These are one time use products and not meant for reliability nor offgrid deployment
My tractor has the blocks/housing that has the latch in the housing. the spades do not have a tab/tangs that flips up to hook into are onto the housing. Where can I find this type of housing and what is it called , my spades have a little hole in the center when you slide it in, the housing clip catches it. My spades and wiring are good but the housing is old and crumbling apart---just need to know where to get this type of male to female housing with built in latch for 2 pin spade and the same for a 3 pin spade
What is BigBattery going to do with the new silver battery technology introduced by Sam Sung?
I like the Mustang form factor! Wish it had CAN Bus communication and higher charge current rating (at least 100A). Will this be a feature add since the other models include it already?
Damn you should of just shoved a 1000cc motorcycle engine in that thing
Can my old lead acid battery gage work on this battery if i install it to the busbar?
Hi Curt, thanks for your question! Unfortunately, lead-acid meters won't read accurately for lithium batteries. We always recommend using the capacity meter that comes with our battery kits since these meters have been specifically calibrated for our batteries' chemistry and voltage curve.
This is cool. Is this better then having that expensive EcoFlo power kit for my van That one can run 12 volt and 24 and 48 volt items in a van build
Hello
Thanks god bless
I add the Big Battery kit about 8 months ago. It has work good but now if I park the cart in the garage with say a 70% charge. Somethimes the battery go dead by the next day. It sound like maybe a short?
Hi Greg, thanks for reaching out! We're sorry to hear about any issues you're experiencing with your batteries. There could be a couple factors at play that might cause draining of the battery overnight. Give us a call at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email to Support@BigBattery.com, and a member of our Support Team can go over the issue in-depth and troubleshoot with you.
Do you have a video explaining an ac coupled battery with your ethos back up battery?
Hi, thanks for your question! To clarify so we can point you in the right direction, you're looking to understand how to connect an ETHOS stack to an existing AC-coupled system?
@@BigBattery I have SunPower panels. They all have mini inverters. That means that the power coming from my roof is AC. I am asking how your inverter deals with incoming AC.? It seems to me that it would need to be converted back to DC to charge ethos batteries. Then back to AC to power my home and the grid. I would lose some power in all 3 conversions. Please tell me if I’m wrong. Or tell me of an advantage that I am not seeing. I live in the southern ca high desert and air conditioning is a top priority I’m slowly changing out all propane equipment for heat pump or electric when heat pump is not available. I like your ethos battery backup mostly because I can start with 3 bricks and add on when needed. I like the small jump in storage at a reasonable price. Powerwalls cost a lot more if you need more than one but 2 is over kill.
@@Skookman Thanks for the clarification! We hear you about the hassle and cost of upgrading your power when it comes to other single-unit options. The stackable, expandable design of the ETHOS is a great for an initial home system. To your question, the 12K Lux inverter(s) that's paired with our ETHOS Systems can absolutely handle any incoming AC power from your panels. These inverters feature both a standard grid connection port, as well as a second port specifically for external AC sources such as a generator or your solar panels. In regards to power loss during conversion, there will always be some nominal amount of loss during transfer for every inverter on the market, but with high efficiency conversion and fast transfer times, that loss becomes negligible. The 12K inverter we offer has a transfer time of 20 ms or less, with 95% - 99.9% efficiency so you shouldn't experience any noticeable loss of power between conversions. Plus, these inverters allow you to set timeframes where your solar panels are feeding directly to your home appliances, bypassing the battery and reducing conversion steps. Feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email to Sales@BigBattery.com, and one of our team members here can go over your current system in-depth and offer a personalized recommendation for your power needs!
Can this battery backup work with sun power micro inverter panels?
Im installing 2 Huskys into my Polaris EV. Can I power on the batteries one time and leave them in the powered state? Or do I need to power down when parked (not in use) and repower with the buttons each time I use them? Thank you
Hi, thanks for your question! You absolutely can. There should be no issue with leaving the batteries on when not in use. While shutting them down overnight can prevent self-discharging, this discharge rate is very nominal and shouldn't be noticeable when returning in the morning. Plus, our HUSKY 2s feature a Standby Mode, so if they don't detect a current after a while, they enter Standby and reactivate once a current is detected. Feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091 if you have any additional questions. Thanks!
So this is like for when your power goes out? How long would a battery last on a 2 story house?
Hi, thanks for your question! Many of our customers do use the ETHOS for emergency backup power. However, some homeowners also use the ETHOS to offset the cost of their monthly electric bill, and some even get rewarded each month by giving excess power back to the grid through incentive programs and tax credits, covering the total cost of their system in as little as 2 years! Some serious power enthusiasts have even taken their entire home off-grid with our ETHOS Systems. Generally, our base 10.2kWh ETHOS System can support the average 2 - 3 bedroom for a day should the power go out, but if you avoid using non-essential appliances and reduce power consumption, that can improve to 2 or 3 days. Keep in mind, there are a lot factors involved in determining the size of your home's power system, but since the ETHOS is stackable and modular, you can easily expand upon your system later on as needed. Feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email to Sales@BigBattery.com, and one of our team members here can go over your current usage and offer a personalized recommendation for your power needs! You can also check out our current selection of ETHOS Systems here: bigbattery.com/ul-certified-grid-tied-systems/
@BigBattery thanks for the info but 8 grand for the cheapest is still wayyy more expensive than a generac especially where i live. But thanks anyway, have a good one.
@@kratos7893 you can pay off the system in 4.5 years. After that no bills. Electric bill will not be the same in 5 years. Will it be $600 or more a month in 10 years? Probably.
Looking for a demo of a sb175 being crimped... i got a hydraulic crimp but cannot find anything saying far to crimp it.. its not like it suddenly feels tighther when using a 10ton crimper
Do you need 2 batteries? Would one be sufficient?
Hi, thanks for your question! As long as your cart is on the smaller side (4 or fewer passengers, no cargo bed with heavy loads, etc.) than one HUSKY 2 should be more than sufficient. However, if you have a larger cart, or find yourself going through harsh driving environments or frequently carrying a lot of weight, than we would recommend going with 2 or more batteries to ensure you never find yourself low on the power throughout the day. Feel free to reach out to our Sales & Support Team at (818) 280-3091, or by email at Sales@BigBattery.com, and one of our team members can discuss your cart more in-depth and make a personalized recommendation for you! You can also see all of our golf cart kits right here: bigbattery.com/golf-carts/
Looks great. How does this work with enphase micro inverters?
Hi, thanks for your question! Our ETHOS is compatible with a wide range of inverters including Enphase. However, in order to capitalize on AC coupling and receive UL9540a-certified permits, you'll need to use the ETHOS with our paired LUX inverter. Keep in mind though that exceptions can be made and we recommend reaching out to your local/regional AHJ to see if your system qualifies. Also, feel free to reach out to us at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email at Sales@BigBattery.com, and one of our team members here can discuss your current setup more in-depth and determine how to get the most out of your power system!

Look at how and where lithium is mined!!!!
Lithium batteries are currently being transitioned out of favor. But they are still the highest performers on the market. But like i said, there are dozens of alternatives currently working their way through the manufacturing process
Hi Robert, At BigBattery, we're proud to source our lithium domestically from the USA, which constitutes less than 1-2% of our batteries. We use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology, relying on abundant and locally accessible elements like iron and phosphate. When your battery reaches the end of its long lifespan (15-21 years), we offer free recycling services to ensure environmentally responsible disposal. Excitingly, within the next two years, we plan to introduce Sodium-ion batteries, predominantly made from table salt, carbon, iron, and phosphorus. Our commitment to sustainability means we avoid conflict materials, focus on local resources, and design our batteries for easy repair and recycling. Thank you for engaging with us!
Why do people still think batteries are cleaner??? They're not.
Nothing is without flaw. Batteries arent a perfect solution, as they are today, but battery technology advanced as demand and funding increases. Like all advancements in technology. Our current dominant sources of energy have had their chance to reinvest in their own efficiency and have failed. Gasoline is still only 35% efficient Coal is only 40% efficient Natural gas is less than 30% efficient There is plenty of room to extract more energy and produce better engines But they havent So now a new form of competition has emerged, and yeah its environmental promises are effectively lies, because the type of pollution is different, green house emissions are lower, but water pollution and other hazardous toxins are byproducts. But even that will change over time Short term, yeah its trading bad for different bad Long term, it is a net benefit for the environment and economics
Someone eliminates reliance on the grid, avoids peak energy charges, stores power to prevent a blackout, and can sell energy back to the grid… Yet you have something negative to say?
With all due respect Lunchbox90, LFP batteries are indeed cleaner and better for the environment than NMC batteries. They use abundant, locally sourced materials in the USA, avoiding harmful heavy metals like cobalt, which is often mined in conflict zones with severe human rights abuses. LFP batteries also have a longer lifespan of up to 6,000 cycles compared to 4,000 for NMC and are fully recyclable, significantly reducing environmental impact and reliance on conflict minerals. Additionally, using solar and LFP batteries is a more environmentally friendly solution compared to power companies burning coal or natural gas in Peaker power plants. Nature has been powered by a massive fusion reactor 93 million miles away from earth long before we got here.. We prefer harnessing that energy for mankind. Thank you for your input.
Called BB last week they've discontinued it. It's still available from Batteryevo, and it comes with the anderson plug on a4' cable.
Is the meter supposed to be always on? Won't that run down the battery? Is this okay?
Hi Josh, thanks for your question. Since the meter is powered by the batteries, as long as the batteries are on, the meter will be on as well. However, the power usage from the meter is less than 1mA so any additional draw from the meter should be negligible. Feel free to reach out to us at (818) 280-3091 if you have any other questions or concerns!
Awesome video!!!
Great video
Appreciate your support - we'll keep making more videos to help share our new products. : )
What's the weight of this battery
Hi, thanks for your question! Our 24V HUSKY 2 comes in at 95 lbs with a 5.12kWh (200 Ah) capacity. You can see this battery and our other HUSKY 2 Kits on our RV/Van page here: bigbattery.com/rv/
How much does a set up like this run for in a 24v system installed? What would be the down time? I have a 2016 f59 food truck running on 8 Trojan T-105 6v Deep cycle batteries now and they literally suck alot of water and now don't even give me 1hr runtime on my refrigerator i have to use my genset
Hi, thanks for your question, and we feel your pain! All that watering and maintenance just for an hour of runtime is unsustainable for food truck businesses. We have a few all-in-one systems for food trucks that have revolutionized how business owners power their trucks and afforded them massive lifetime savings. If you're looking for a similar 15kWh system in 24V, feel free to check out our 24V HUSKY 2 Victron Kit here (bigbattery.com/products/24v-3x-husky-2-kit-victron/) These kits have been some of our best sellers so they're currently on backorder until June 7th, but we have plenty of upgrade options for commercial vehicles on our RV/Van page if you need something sooner (bigbattery.com/rv/). Our 24V kits can range from $2,350 - $9,450 depending on system capacity and type of charger or inverter, but no matter what kit you choose, our lithium batteries afford charge times up to 4x times faster than equivalent lead acid options, and require zero routine maintenance. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email to Sales@BigBattery.com, and one of our team members here can discuss your current setup in depth and find the ideal system for your truck!
What an utterly useless video
Why would anyone live there??
What a stupid thing to comment about the fifth largest economy on earth.
39,100,000 People live in California. It is the most populous state in the USA with Texas coming in as #2. Fortunately - we are establishing a 310,000/SF manufacturing facility outside of Dallas TX. That's the beauty of America - You can live where you want and follow your dreams! Thank you for your comment.
What does this Ethos ESS cost?
Our ETHOS currently starts at $8,940 for the 2-module 10.2KWH system. Keep in mind that we are currently the best-priced UL Certified stackable system in the United States, which we are very excited to share!
What do you have for semi trucks?
Why not add 2 more batteries to make the equipment run longer before needing a charge insteed of the counter wieghts
Hi, thanks for your question! Since lithium batteries are a fraction of the weight of lead-acid options, those counterweight boxes are necessary in order to keep the overall weight consistent with the original certification for the vehicle and ensure your scissor lift is still operating properly and within safe parameters. Feel free to learn more about our scissor lift kits right here: bigbattery.com/industrial/
