Hikes With Sheba
Добавлен 21 янв 2023
Hiking in the great outdoors with my dog Sheba.
Sunshine on Snow
The sun is finally out and the snow is deep and crusty. Perfect conditions for Sheba and me to get out and hike. I have to put on snowshoes and gloves and a coat, etc., but Sheba is ready to go anytime. Rabbit tracks are all over the place and Sheba's always into a good chase, but a rabbit is very good at escaping a predator.

Shadows Play Upon the Snow
Просмотров 423 часа назад
When the sun is shining on the snow at such a low angle, the areas of shadow and light create a wonderful variation of colours. The snow is a great texture for snowshoes and for Sheba, my poodle, to tear around on. I'm trying to catch areas of light going to shadow and then back to light whereas Sheba is just running around for the sheer joy of doing so. Enjoy.
Deep In The Snowy Forest

Lots of snow - and I mean LOTS, but very little sunshine. Still, Sheba and I need that daily exercise and exploration. The local forests get the Sheba treatment and the rabbits and squirrels are put on notice by Sheriff Sheba. Me? I'm just trying to catch my breath. Enjoy!
Sheba Doesn't Need Snowshoes, But I Do

Another snowshoe session in the forest with Sheba, the intrepid adventurer. The crusty on the snow is especially crunchy on this one. You can tell there's been some wind with all the debris on top of the snow. Small streams are still flowing here and there even though everything else is frozen. Enjoy!
Rabbit Tracks

It's winter and there's a lot of snow. There's a skiff of powder over a crusty, crunchy base, perfect for snowshoe hiking through a forest. My poodle, Sheba, has an easy time getting around in these conditions to check for rabbits and sniff their tracks. Enjoy! Please Like, Comment, Subscribe, etc.
Winter Is Here, Sheba!

Snow has fallen on the land and it's now snowshoeing season. Sheba is excited to embrace the cold weather and the beauty, but it's harder to get around in the snow. The trees of the forest are wearing their white winter clothes and dormant for the season. #puppy #foresthikes #snow #nature
Edmonton Dog Park w/ Sheba and Cassie
Просмотров 4021 день назад
My poodle, Sheba, and my Mom's dog Cassie (Bichon/Shih tzu) go for a walk in a dog park in Edmonton. Sheba has no qualms about making friends with people and dogs whereas Cassie is a little more shy being a small dog. After Sheba breaks the ice, Cassie generally feels a little braver and approaches. It's a nice walk for all of us.
Sheba Navigates The Forest

Some of this area in the forest is very dense with young trees. Sheba can get through without much difficulty, but her human has to get a few sticks in the face. This was filmed close to my land in northern BC, Canada. The boreal forests are a beautiful place to explore with lots of moss and tall coniferous trees. Enjoy as my dog Sheba and I explore for you and check out the sights.

Autumn Leaves and Sheba Arrives

Deep into autumn and the forest, the leaves are on the forest floor and make a nice crunching sound. Sheba and I can finally get around the forest now that the undergrowth has subsided. I'm not looking forward to winter's cold, but I am looking forward to getting on the snowshoes when the snow gets deep.
Dog Park Views Of River Valley w/ Cassie and Sheba

This is at a dog park in Edmonton in the river valley. The snow hasn't accumulated yet, but it is on its way. Sheba is not used to a leash, so the dog park is a great way for her to enjoy the outdoors and freedom, the way she's used to being. Cassie does her best to keep up. The view is stunning.

Sunbeams Through The Canopy With Sheba
Sheba looks so happy.
Beautiful hoar frost.
Beautiful meadow
I love those flowers. I wonder what they are.
Pearly Everlasting
Beautiful moss forest floor.
I like seeing the tops of the trees. And all those little trees.
Big rabbit (hare) tracks.
Nice fall forest.
Stunning! Lucky you!
Snow looks deep. Nice sunny day. She’s looking for that squirrel.
There's rabbits around here.
Lovely
Can you point the camera higher to,show more green? Otherwise the forest looks dead.
Blue blue sky. Beautiful sunny day. What was Sheba eating?
A mouse.
Pretty
Nice when you keep the camera higher.
Wow! Are those Hare foot prints? They are so big!
Scanning up to show the beautiful snow covered evergreens was a treat.
Nice walk.
I like when you say the season.
I like it when you scan up so we can see the tops of the trees and the sky.
Must be quite the wind to up root a big tree.
I like the scanning upward.
Pretty soon you can be using your snow shoes.
Are those mushrooms eatable?
Yum
The earth waking up.
She’s so cute on her hind legs.
Beautiful day. I like it when you scan around.
Nice shot of the bee in the flowers. Garden is looking good.
What a great life for you both. Wandering in the woods.
A bone?
Lovely.
What do the hemlock leaves look like?
It's an evergreen, they're flat soft needles.
Yikes, winter is coming.
I like the detail of the roots of the tree etc.
Peaceful!
A nice fall day
Good to see you back!
So many ferns!
Very peaceful!❤
What a wonderful life!
Beautiful meadow!
Lovely walk.
What is she eating and rolling in?
Wow, you have to have an eagle eye to spot them.
Wow, lots of fiddle heads. Do you pick them to eat?
These ones are bracken fern, which are not good. Ostrich fern are the good ones to eat, but I'm not a fan of the texture, so I don't pick them anymore.
I was trying to get Cassie to look at her friend, Sheba, but she didn’t get it. Sigh.
Did the neighbour know his animals were loose?
They don't go far.
Some of that terrain is pretty tough. Sometimes I wonder how you are going to go forward:)
Lots of green already.
