Did you read the show title? lol but let’s be realistic here battery technology is pretty much the same as it has been forever. Car battery’s are still the same, lithium has been the biggest advancement but you can’t change physics. Plenty familiar with how EVs work and it isn’t very well. Coming from Canada evs are laughable at best. We’ve never had a car not start in the cold even in -45 not plugged in. Drive all over the country in extreme weather with a gas vehicle no problems related to temperature. The ride share drivers charge daily it was taking way longer then ever and the battery’s wouldn’t fully charge so it’s pretty hard to make money that way. We have friends that work for some of the big ev companies no need to name but easy to guess which one , some friends and family that have them and they are just overpriced iPads. If you took away the electronics the vehicles themselves are terrible. This doesn’t even include the fact of how the carbon footprint of making these vehicles, updating the grid etc etc is absolutely staggering. Should be a choice not forced in a free market

​@@CruisinWithKevinandJen - the fact that you think all Lithium Battery chemistries are the same shows your lack of understanding of the batteries in EVs and the BMS that regulates them. Even in EVs alone there are at least 3-4 main types of chemistries, and many, many variations. But just as important is the BMS and active temperature regulation that is built in to almost all modern EVs. (the Leaf being one of those unfortunate exceptions). You are also erroneously assuming that the self-inflicted problems of a small subset of EV drivers, mainly new, rideshare EV drivers, equates their experience to others with more sense- i.e. most EV drivers, including those in cold climes. It doesn't. As an example, 87 percent of Norway's new car sales are now fully electric. Does it sound like they are having issues? There are literally dozens (hundreds?) of RUclips videos showing how EVs handle the cold. Yes, in extreme cold you have to be smart about them- they are different than gas cars. But overall they are better, cheaper and will continue to improve. Ironically, one of the foremost experts in Battery Chemisties for EVs is Dr. Jeff Dahn, a professor in Canada.

@@paulcummings55I have to disagree here. That was some pretty generic information you threw out but it doesn’t translate to the real world. They aren’t cost effective, the carbon footprint is MASSIVE, towing is useless, they are massively overpriced and you are trying to say that battery technology is different but in the end you aren’t changing physics for how far they go on a charge etc. Dodge is trying to stretch the physics idea with a ran charger next year basically an onboard generator but again that only stretches out the inevitable battery drain and other endless problems EV’s have. I personally don’t have a problem with them I think they have a place but I don’t like when the government says you have to do something. Let it be free choice and manufacturers build what sells like they always have
