Hi dear. You can omit the essential oil, but please do not skip on the preservative. Epsom salt adds good minerals to the product but it does not do anything in terms of preservation. Please get a simple preservative especially for waterbased skincare. Can try Liquid Germall Plus. :)

Hi dear! E-wax will emulsify both oils and butters. Butters are actually also oils, but in solid form. So it's considered the same category. :)

Yes dear, the preservative is a must! Because eventhough the hydrosols are self-preserving, it is still being combined with water and other ingredients in the product and without preservative, bacteria and mould can grow easily especially in a natural based product.

You're right i didnt check the pH. Usually lotions would have a neutral pH since they mostly contain oils and water only. Unless some strong actives are added, the pH is usually the same. But anyways, you can still check yours if you follow this formulation and is concerned about it. :)

Kojic Acid Dipalmitate is oil soluble, so unfortunately it wont work with this jelly mask. However, you can use it in a cream based face mask. :)
