    Apparently you got it dead right! Technology or science makes mankind sad or even miserable, when it goes too far ( think about social medias ), fantasy allows people to be happier, to get back in touch with our humanity, which can improve the world and give voice to minorities who were not much considered in 1988....(women, artists, children etc ) in the cold world of today driven by greed... I think that's the message Terry Gilliam wants to convey.... Thanks Mr Gilliam for the fantastic images ( The Baron and Uma dancing in the air ), music, scenery ! mission accomplished ! 🙂👍

      old boy is great for first and second time but third time rewatch it quickly gets boring not because of the twist and climax but because of the way of director choose the narration and only one centered plot which is to find the guy who imprisoned de su for 15 years it's not director's fault but it is what it is There is no complex narration or different narration for characters to engage with scenes despite having incredible cinematography,editing and music with amazing performance by all actors especially protoganist Again it's about one centered guy it's about truth to find who did this With memories of murder its completely opposite there's so much going different narration going on in MoM.

    Titanic is a visual masterpiece, nothing more. The perfect formula for a blockbuster. Forced context setting a ludicrous love story, unrealistic at times and questionable ending with one of the least sad deaths ever in cinema history. Not even the fans of Titanic truly care about Jack's death!!!

    There's a mystery at the centre of all Welles films. The meaning always seems allusive. Like films in search of meaning, that ultimately fail With Kane, you always get the impression that the central character is unknowable. Much like we all are. That meaning is just something we impose on the universe, a human construction to try and make sense of the world.

    I hate how it's praised as a piece of art but all the existential monologues are clearly pretentious and made to seem intelligent. So many things didn't make sense like jet engines on the boat scene, or the Japanese only sending 3 or 4 men to attack a small company of Marines. A lot of serious moments made me laugh like pulling a pin on a grenade and It going off in your hand, but having no clear damage to your body yet dying and causing a scene out of it. I actually giggled and got extremely confused what tone it was trying to set. There were so many scenes of people being shot and doing the whole "tell my wife I love her" schtick, holding your comrade in your arms as bullets fly over your head missing you completely. If it was an art-house movie made by an independent director, didn't put an emphasis on the star studded cast (clearly to catch a casual audience), and wrote a screenplay that didn't take itself WAY TOO SERIOUSLY, then it could have been good. The elements are there like humans killing eachother and being in conflict with nature, which was it's most compelling element. But the way it's structured didn't do it justice at all, and didn't know if it wanted to be a war movie or an existential art-house movie with commentary on morality.

    I loved it. I absolutely love the first two too. I kid you not, no exaggerating, this might be my favorite film trilogy. Just for how each film gets better, and builds off of the story and characters beats from the previous ones. And the real emotion, and adult themes. And it was a perfect ending. I got very emotional.

    I feel like none of the Lego movies have been able to compare to the awesomeness of the original Lego Movie. Lego Batman was a big let down (I felt like the only truly funny parts were all shown in the trailers). The Second Part wasn't terrible by any means, but if I'd give the original an 8/10, I'd give the second one a 6/10.

      True but on paper it had a better shot at it than most would have presumed for Aquaman due to it being a well recognized part of DC's Trinity, and also not coming 13 months after the last DCEU movie like Aquaman.

  • @TheGmsg
    @TheGmsg 5 лет назад

    Loved Jason in Stargate Atlantis. I actually liked this movie compared to most of the DCEU movies, I think though that a good amount of its success is that its more lighthearted with more comedy, which is different from a lot of its universe, but more like the MCU. I will say some of the cgi was weird with people like Dafoe and Lundgren, their face and hair seemed to overlap like a video game glitch.

  • @CamPopplestone

    I love Harry Potter. The books moreso. The films are solid, and as good an adaptation can be. But the books go so much more in depth on the world, the characters and everything. The books were my favorites growing up. And I HATE the two Fantastic Beasts movies. Both are just focused on setting up future films. Where as the Potter stories do that, but also do a good job of having their own driving narrative. So it's a good balance. And Harry, Ron and Hermione are good, interesting characters you want to follow. Newt is not.

      ian smith, The new effects look better in my opinion. The definitive version of the story is not the original but the best quality version, that being the one with new effects. Why don't you watch it on an old 1970's video tape on an old box tv if you are against change. Actually watch the Daleks with the first doctor because it has the original doctor and the original Dalek story seeing as you think the original is better and not the definitive version which is certainly an improvement. The new effects is like finishing touches to a story where the effects were rushed. Preferring inferior effects just because that is how it was released is stubborn. It is the story that matters and the new effects only act as polished tools for telling that story.

    • @iansmith4023

      Life Upgrade I'm not sure why you're getting annoyed with me :( I even said in my post that it was a pity that the Directors Cut DIDN'T have new effects. I'm not,in any way,against change (although, DVDs should always make new CGI optional,imo).
