Hello, I'm an italian student going to take imat 2025, I can tell you that I'm following almost everyday the italian med tests field, I can confirm whatever @Sami Qamar said, in the sense that there're two kinds of med schools in Italy, the main one, taught in the Italian language and the one taught in the English language, whose admission's test is IMAT. The thing that's going on in the last weeks is that some italian politicians are writing down drafts of laws in order to then propose them to the senate and wait for other approvals which will eventually take time, and with time I mean months, but don't panic 'cause all these ideas are planned to be applied for the med course taught in italian, which has like 15 times more seats available per year respect to the other course taught in english. Regarding the new admission system what politicians are planning to do is to accept everyone that wants to apply to med school and give them six months of "free" lessons, then there'll be exams regarding the lessons, like normal uni exams, then the ones that finally managed to pass those exams will partcipate to another final exam regarding all the subjects studied the last six months of lessons and the ones who will arrive first in corrispondence with the available seats that particular year will finally be elected as enrolled to the course. But seems that italian politicians are focusing all of this system for the main Italian language taught course, in fact I sadly believe most italian politicians don't even know about the existence of med school courses taught in english in Italy and about the IMAT as well. And by the way, the problem here in Italy is that the number of doctors (M.D.s) is not low, and we are not deficient in them either, the arising problem in the last years is that many family medicine physicians are retiring and cardio/derma and other specialists hired long time ago in public hospitals are retiring as well, while a good part of new doctors don't wanna have a life long job as a family physician, cause they think it's a stressful job compared to a private clinic specialist which works nine to five and has a high paycheck. Because of these things, the remaining family physicians are suppressed with crazy amounts of patients to visit and feel then obligated to keep their ambulatories open just for two hours a day, cause the remaining hours they need to go to another small village to visit other patients and then there are also home visits so the amount of stress they can go through can scare those young new doctors that the month before where only passing their days on books. Apart from that, cardio/derma etc. specialists are almost all going to private clinics cause the pay is higher and the schedules are better, this causes a phenomenon where people tryna to pick an appointment for specialist visits in public hospitals may be asked to wait even 5 years. In conclusion, I think imat 2025 due to the reasons specified in the video will take place, furthermore remember that the official law called "Bando" regarding the day or the questions often happens to be released not before may/june.
