Hi Great to see youre back. (Im also doing a JESC review right now, but for 2014-2022) Oh 2009, this is probably the Definition of Bipolarized for me. My Top 13: 13. Malta- Ugh I can´t with this, its so annoying 12. Georgia- I just find this one insanely boring and the babadum parts put me off 11. Serbia- you said it, her (live) voice is a bit unlistenable 10. Belarus- Its unique, I admit that. But beside that this is just very confusing 9. Ukraine- I like how catchy it is, but this is another song that can get annoying so fast 8. North Macedonia- not bad, but really forgettable 7. Cyprus- all over pretty alright 6. Romania- not the most memorable song but it has a nice relaxing tune to it 5. Sweden- From here on I love all entries, her voice is really great 4. Armenia- yeah this is Extremly Iconic. Such an Awesome Performance 3. Netherlands- the Top 3 was hard to rank. This honestly is a Banger to me and feels so nostalgic. So catchy to 2. Belgium- a legendary Masterpiece of JESC, love everything about it. Belgium is/was one of my Favourite JESC countries and this is their best entry 1. Russia- I just find this one so adorable yet one of the most catchy songs (especially the chorus) in Junior Eurovision history. Definetely my Favourite from them

Spiral at no. 1? I never thought i’d see the day! I only have it at no. 3, but it marked the start of what I think was the most fun period for Norway during the orchestral era. Fun fact: Though they were friends, composer Sigurd Jansen was not happy with the selection of Arne Bendiksen as vocalist for Spiral. Jansen had written the tune with a different vocalist in mind; Per Asplin.

About Norway - Currently my 10th, and I have a weird love-hate relationship with it. The instrumental intro is phenomenal, and I love the melody in the chorus. The verses are too long, and her talk-singing gets dragging. Also, the clapping doesn't work at all. About Netherlands - Great entry! My runner-up, next to Sweden. So, we have the same top 2. One of the greatest performances in 1993.

It's definitely a very interesting and strong year in my opinion. Although the beginning of the season was a little underwhelming for my taste, I'm super happy that the latest song releases saved the whole thing! I won't point many things, as I'm planning to create my own ranking too, but thanks a lot for the 2nd place. I'm not the biggest fan of this song, but Victor is such a nice guy and I'm hoping for a good stage performance in order to bring the song to life. And since he has written it by himself, I believe that we're gonna get a strong emotional explosion from him.. 🤞
