Hey fellow dishwashers! I'm just curious how much you guys make an hour and what your schedule is like. Currently I work 45 hours a week and make 16$ an hour on top of delivery tips. Although I usually don't get out until 11-12:30 ish I feel like I get treated pretty well at my place, just wondering how you guys are making out.

So, no proper pre-rinse for several trays. No sanitizing rinse. I get that dishies want to share, but please people... share only if you actually care professionally about cleaning. If you are just punching a time clock - please don't. The food service industry doesn't need more bad examples of how not to handle food safety in a professional manner, the management/owners are quite fine screwing us all on their own.

WOW this is so slow...in restaurant where i work its like 4x faster

I wash 6 inch pans, 4 inch pans , 2 inchpans, 5 gallon buckets, , black bus tubs, pitchers, meat grinder parts, meat slicer parts, plenty of cutting boards, silverware, plates round, square, rectangular, soup bowls, cups and those god dam ramekins. I do not wash beverage cups

I'm like the lebron James of my kitchen because my coworkers are lazy af and I have to carry them team by myself. I gave one of my coworkers the nickname of batman because he always has a knack for disappearing without anyone knowing where the fuck he is during service.

The most underrated, underpaid job in the land of the free

So many people hate dishwashing lol. Dishwashing is very versatile. You can work as long as you want, do drugs, potentially earn more as a cook with a lil schooling (no longer than 6 months) to make a comfortable living. You can also use dishwashing as a temporary patch if you lose a job. Simply dishwash at 2 restaurants until you pick yourself back up to get the job you want. With dishwashing you can even decide to work your ass off at multiple dishwashing jobs then travel abroad for some months. Then easily pick up more Dishwashing jobs.

My job is one of the most difficult, dishes come like rainfalls and I'm the only one to wash, and arrange the plates, pots and everything, i mop the kitchen and throw the trash bags etc, today is my fifth day and I collect only 4 euros an hour and I often work for 8 hours with no time to even pee. I'm told about salary increment after a month and that keeps me moving. Yeah it sounds more than a job but yeah it's my first job here and I need to survive. When you go to a restaurant go give tips to the dishwasher he deserves it most.

I work in a small restaurant but ya still full all the time and I’m the only dishwasher there. I have to wash them wait till they’re dry put them away dodging the cooks and waitress. Not to mention the temperature in the kitchen

this is way easy compared to where i work, literally, in my place you would sweat your bum out like you've never had before, its maddd, and you dont get a break until youve finished 8 hours of work
