It is VERY rare to see videos on these very rare cars. I was quite surprised to come across it. Many more videos on the Esprit. I have a 1975 Elite so am quite familiar with this car. There are a lot of differences between the S1 and the S2. Some of them not an improvement, especially in the interior, IMO. The big thing I noticed, is that it does not appear to have the 2.2L motor, which in this car should have been the 912 N/A. THAT engine looks like the 907 that I have in my car. The clue is the canshaft covers. The 907 2.0L covers had the notorious leaking issues, epecially on the exhaust side, that was redesigned for the 2.2L engines. The 910 (turbo) and 912 (N/A) engines were a huge improvement over the 907 in many respects. My goal is to buils a 2.2L motor for my Federal car with the Delortos.

It looks great - would have been nice to hear it start up.

It’s no Espada but you’re right it’s just as beautiful. I think the designers of both cars accessed the same section of the Akashic Construct to create both this Elite and the Espada, amazing cars.

You mentioned that Porsche got better in the Macan and not so in the 911 as mostly P owners prefer the 991 than 992. I own a 95B.2 and I personally think that it is better than the 95B.3, at least for the GTS trim level. It has the buttons, the ability to do + and - in manual with the gear lever, engine is the same, just that the 95B.3 is tuned to more HP and Torque. I find the .3’s increase in HP and Torque not that substantial. I also think that the .3’s bumper has a lot of plastic and not clean looking. However, the newer GTS in the 718 is a substantial improvement from turbo 4 to N/A 4L. That’s why I made no hesitation and got one in Feb 2024.

There is a difference between getting a full interior retrim kit for an E type and a Lotus Elite. You try and find one - They dont exist because there is so few Elites nobody is going to do a kit. You will have to take it to a trimmer and so the cost will be much more than just buying a kit.
