    Have you had any issues with that tractor?

    • @duncanmcnair4440

      Nothing really, it is now 10 years old and has done 3700h, I put a clutch in and had to weld the gearstick as it snapped. All in all a great wee tractor that punches above its weight. I had a MF 4709 on demo that is supposed to be over 100hp and it would pull way better than it. If I could get the same again I would, great engine just keeps pulling, it is a basic spec, dry clutch, manual hydraulics, manual 4x4 and diff lock and pto. Good feeling to the tractor on steep ground inspires you to take it into some strange places! If you look at videos on my page you will see it ploughing with a 3 furrow 14 inch plough hauling substantial loads of silage etc. I haven't tried any of the newer versions of this tractor so I am not sure if the wet clutch would suckl a bit power out of it.

      Hi Cameron, I am still liking it, I have done the clutch last year ,it has been getting abused with used on a bedder where you are on off the clutch at 540rpm as you would need something with a creeper box to get slow enough. Simple basic tractor, great wee machine

      @@duncanmcnair4440 good to hear. I’m interested in getting one but I’m worried about the dry clutch

      @Cameron Nalley Hi Cameron, I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you could do a clutch on a 135 you could do one on this. Should generally be good for 3000h or so. Dry clutch doesn't need hydraulic pack that sucks power so all horses are there to pull which for its rating it does really well, if you look at some of my other vids you will see it in action pulling a 3 furrow 14 inch plough and getting loaded up with 14 bales of silage....it does get fairly heavy work!

      @@duncanmcnair4440 I’m looking for a loader tractor that will cut hay, Ted, rake, and bale if I need it to. But it will mainly be a loader tractor for moving and loading hay. Right now I’ve got a Massey 393 which has a dry clutch. I don’t think it’s ever had a clutch job and it’s had a loader it’s whole life. 5500 hours on it so far. Do you think I would be alright with it? I’m really just looking for something more comfortable because the ol Massey is really rough. I think the new one is different from yours though. The one I’m looking at is a 5080D Keyline which has a left hand shuttle. I wonder if you have to clutch to change direction. I’ll definitely check out your other videos!

      @duncanmcnair4440 5 лет назад

      Now at 1900 hours clutch still ok it's life has been shortened by using on feeder by doing lots of stop starts at 540pto rpm would be better for this purpose if we had one with creeper box. Still very happy with it. If you look at my other videos you will see we get up to with it. Had an MF 4709 on demo 97hp, this will outperform it with ease, towing the same load up a hill 2 mph faster on about half the fuel.

      @@rolsen1304 no doubt about it, back end of 4709 is a mess..poor lift travel arms won't go low enough for toppers etc draft control all done by electronic top link pin which if you have pick up hitch cables foul on each other trying to get top link pin out won't last six months. Thirsty, poor power, horrible sharp clutch. The best thing about it is the loader is quick with good oil flow if you can abide everything else! Don't think I am just knocking Massey's as we have had them all my life, but it's not a patch on the older ones.5080 punches above its weight power wise best thing is to look at torque figures

      @@duncanmcnair4440 Thats what you get for selling out to greed and outsourcing production to developing countries I guess. Pretty much only SDF and Zetor + Italian brands left building stuff in europe. Zetor to has taken a bit of a dive after John Deere bought them, used to be immortal workhorses, tho very rough around the edges and lacking in modern comfort. Still strong for the money but things like the everlasting centrifugal oil filter is gone.
