If you think this animation style is familiar its because the staff from bc migrated to mappa a few years ago, black clover director tatsuya yoshihara saved the anime, without him bc would be like nanatsu no taiza season 3 and beyond. He is now action director/animator from mappa and all the chainsaw/jjk/big names are his creations, jjk is know as "black clover with budget" cuz that, is a bigger staff but with all the talents from bc

Thats not holding back the animation, its called boruto taking all the staff and money from black clover team, the director had to fund the majority of the talents in this episode alone without the studio support. Imagine youre working and your boss takes 70% of your salary to give to his other staff members and you still have to pay for continuing your work cuz your boss dindt pay for the materials

This story is indeed so complicated, I started recently to read the light novel and what I can say for sure that this season with all the mysteries and whatnot is a mere prelude to whatever will go on afterwards and I just reached vol.3 out of 15 I think right now and it's still ongoing too!! 😵😵

This backstory wasn't for us I think it was for Kirsch specifically 😅. As we saw here the bigotry and classism is so dominant and that is what they grew up to and fighting it is low key a main point in the story. and so yes a backstory wont be a magic cure but more like the first step for them to try and see the world in a different color so gradually a change would come. For Kirsch it was this moment to maybe try and use his brain at last! 😂😂
