Hay making week 2 and we have a new mower! We have entered the second week of hay! We have cut another 20ha which is half of our total area! We have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity of hiring a mchale mower too! It has been a brilliant tool and I will do a review very soon. Hay making week 1! And the mower is broken! The week as usual didn’t all go to plan, it started off on Sunday when we were half way through cutting the first field and a bit of metal went through the mower and wrote it off. Drilling the spring barley 2023! We are drilling laureate at 250kg/ha. This ground had an over winter cover crop and has been mucked. We managed to get half of it in in early March, but it turned wet and we weren’t able to get back on until the 5th of April! Spring cultivating 2023! We are cultivating our land that is coming spring barley. This land had a cover crop over winter which we have sprayed off and spread muck on. Bunnings Lowlander 150 muck spreading! We are spreading muck in our fields before spring barley. This is a mixture of horse muck and different poultry muck.
