Interested to know how much extra fuel the rack consumes, i have been avoiding adding one for this reason, they do look good the backbone setup, keep up the good work
It's hard to say how much it adds, haven't really noticed the difference yet, I'll have to make sure I keep an eye on it though.
Good video mate. I have the same roof rack on a 79 also with a darche 180* awning and 33 inch muddys and I’m sitting at 13.6L per hundred. Probably the best looking roof rack for the 70 series in my opinion 👍
Should look at a MORRFlate system to accompany your ARB which will make airflow better. Your valve is what allows the air in and out. Hence why almost same time. But if you do all 4 at once then your arb twin will pump out its full 240L of air per minute. 35” tyres will be around 5 mins. A good option. Nice video mate
Great video
@@johngenoni1927 thanks mate!
The gorges are spectacular, yes you do get a bit gorged out a the end but its worth the effort, loving your content
@@GeoffreyShephard thanks mate! 😃
Its just magic up that way, i need to go back sometime, thanks for reminding me
I am super cautious when turning with less than 10, but in a pinch agree with less, good stuff, keep up the good work, fellow 79 owner
Thanks mate! 😀
Great video mate nice truck that a 4 inch lift what suspension gear you running and tyre type and size
ruclips.net/video/N0E2GuWybxQ/видео.htmlsi=YRdp8SObvLdALvVu all in this video 👍👌💪
All double diaphram boosters have a less direct feel than std singles, a bit spongey, have you got braided lines, that would help.
Just a bit of extra info, toyota diff locks on 70 series will not try to engage unless the vehicle is in 4wd/ center diff locked. And with 80 series i belive the center diff has to be locked
@fawshaw3361 can't be more locked than no diff haha. I see we're that's a bit misleading. But the general point being the lockers even though the lights flash are not trying to engage unless you are in 4wd, or in a full time 4wd vehicle the center diff must be locked
Nice footage. Keep up the good work
Hey how much psi are you running? Going head there tomorrow Thanks
We were running 30 psi in the rear and 25 in the front
@@4x4overlandadventures thanks for the reply all the way?
Yea all the way from the Pentecost river until you get onto the bitumen at Lennard river. If you’re doing to tunnel creek and windjana gorge from Lennard river leave them down ✌️
Thanks God for the captions 😂
Wow incredible 🎉 Love from India 🙏
I wish I could eat this 😅
they're bright yellow so you can see them when they're covered in mud. same reason maxtrax are bright orange.
2" or 3" lift there?
3”
Thank you for the great demonstration!
Love your 70s brother
Cheers mate! 💪👍
Price is a big Factor! How many Kings can you buy for a ARB,? Buy a $12 pressure 90-110psie switch and mount it internally on the manifold of the Kings, MaxiTrac etc, they are all pretty much the same, and ya have a cut off switch, instead of having to switch it on and off all the time, I did the hose upgrade so I get a full volume flow and its even faster, so its 1/4" all the way now! Plus the Anderson plug upgrade and also ya want to go to 4guage cable, use min 120amp Anderson Plug and ya good to go, I also swap out the stock hose from the manifold with a Nitto Coupler, so its another link out of the chain and std volume across all connections and hoses! I'll add a Morflate dual hose at some stage or make my own! Still not half the cost of an ARB. That said in cab or tray mount, then ARB might be a better solution. But these are very easy mods to make to any 300PL dual air compressor. I do have a friend with an even more expensive ARB, the portable with air tank, its about $1500 here, its is very fast, haven't speed checked her since I did my mods, but I know I'm faster than before, hers is very quick though again she is only inflating 33s and I'm doing 3s and was only one wheel behind by the time she finished and that was running back and forth, switching the compressor on and off, which I don't do now and have a constant connection dia end to end, so will be interesting to see next trip. For those interested to do these mods, plenty of vids on you-tube how to do it, its not hard and def worth it, if going with the cheaper option. Just search Nappa or Morflate compressor mods on youtube, I went with the direct tapped option into my manifold with the pressure switch, the easier but more costly and more connections is a tee connection but its more to go wrong, bit ugly, bit more cost with fittings! Can be a bit scary drilling and tapping into the manifold by some, but take ya time, its pretty simple and clean. Good comparison though and vid.
I am thinking of modifying the kings for this reason, just for something to do. I’ll still keep the ARB one after though
Valids points bro, but no reason why you can't mount the Kings in the engine bay... Personally I generally wouldn't even consider buying anything from Kings but after watching countless videos from the blokes in the US modifying there Napa etc... comps they don't seem that bad considering there heaps of ppl with issues with Arb and Arb is a brand for the sheep in my opinion 😅
closer performance than i thought, i have an original thumper, its been not very well looked after , left out in the rain, still goes, i dont think i would shell out the extra $$ for a "possibly" more reliable compressor
My first compressor was one of the original kings thumper max’s. It did me well but I used it a lot and in the rain and heat. Eventually died when I was trying to use it at about 50 degrees celsius
Excellent comparison . The Rebuildability of the ARB is a BIG selling point for it .
Nice rig mate how much was the dwizz diff installed?
I can’t remember because it was included in the engineering. The diff alone was $4750
@@4x4overlandadventures cheers mate yeah probs best to do it all at once ay
Nice walk through. Learnt a lot & helped me understand this tray.
Why not go with Ironman foam cell pro?
I don’t believe they’re up to the same level, dobinson MRR provides the best shock data when on a dyno according to the engineer that I was using.
They also don’t have a remote reservoir
@@4x4overlandadventures thanks mate I appreciate your thoughts. I am trying to decide between dobinson and Ironman.
@jamesm6341 dobinson everyday, other quiet achiever is the remote res efs shocks
great video mate
Saw the fishtailing, must be a stock rear 70 series setup.
Something to come soon…
Stop being a sucker for all that aftermarket expense.
That car doesn't wanna get stuck
Did you air down
Yes I did. Made it harder to get bogged
Good on ya mate!! We love to see it
Awesome share, have a great day
Look like your having fun there mate
nice rig mate love the sound of v8
Nice video!
Nice rig mate, I’ve just picked up a brand new workmate with no lockers - would you recommend getting Toyota to install theirs or aftermarket? Cheers
Hey mate. I don’t think the cost would be viable. I’d get aftermarket ones instead. Like Harrop or ARB
@@4x4overlandadventures ok thanks mate I’ll have a look into those ones
@@calamarininjabeast5866also the Toyota lockers don’t always engage immediately- sometimes you have to turn the steering wheel back and forth or move back and forth - they are what Toyota have described as ‘agricultural”. By contrast the Harrop and ARB lockers instantly engage. I have Harrop lockers on my Prado
You’ve taken out your dpf. Massive fine if you get caught.
what do you mean?
I love your new car mate 😁
