Scenic Northwest Passage, Lewis & Clark's route, Hwy 12 Idaho
Просмотров 5926 месяцев назад
Today we're driving Idaho’s Highway 12, better known as The Northwest Scenic Passage. Somewhat following Lewis & Clark's travels. To travel here in the same area where Lewis and Clark explored was a very humbling experience. And a trip down Hwy 12 will leave you in awe of God's glorious work.
Moab's Gemini Bridges In our Bronco
Просмотров 2497 месяцев назад
I suspected that when we started up Gemini Bridges Trail that we would not be able to go all the way on the shelf road. Sure enough, Glenda didn't like that "shelf" part. So, we had to turn around and drive to the arches from the west end of the road. Anyway, we enjoyed it a lot. Thanks @jrdepew for showing us Gemini Bridges and getting me interested. I fished on a tributary of south fork Salmon river called Rattlesnake creek back in 1972. We caught around 40 keepers of trout. Great tasting fried up a few along the rocky bank before heading back home. Thank you for the tour.
@@JD-zm4eh Thanks for watching our video. Glad it brought back good memories.
Thanks for uploading. I am planning to do this trail in March, do you remember how long did it take for you to drive from start to end of this video?
@@calvinkang1224 Calvin, you’re welcome. I really couldn’t say how long it would take to make this drive. Depends on how much you stop and look. Google maps says it would take 2 hrs to drive from Hwy 191 near Moab to Island in the Sky Rd by way of Shafer trail. I would suggest planning on twice that long to allow time for just looking and picture taking. I think you will love the drive.
Beautiful video! We are going to Moab &Co. next fall and one thing we'll be doing is taking the Shafer Trail Rd./Potash Rd. to Moab so we will head west on Long Canyon Rd. off of Potash Rd. I was wondering how far is it to the Long Canyon Overlook after the turnoff from Potash Rd. before the terrain flattens out?
@@RadhadaniteBabylonian It’s about 4.5 miles from the Colorado River up Long Canyon Rd to the top.
Just went here for the first time this past summer. It was surprisingly beautiful in person. So glad you got to enjoy and share it!
@@michelemcdanieltravels Thanks. We’ll check your video of the canyon.
So beautiful. I’ve been there several times over the years. Watching this brought back many wonderful memories. 😊
@@Jax1957 Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. You must have been the first to see it after we posted.
Next time, try 6 mile canyon above palisade State Park. It will take you to twelve mile canyon, beautiful drive.
We hope to get back there this coming summer. Love the area. Thanks for riding along!
Idaho is vast and real scenic. Forest fires were everywhere this year also in BritishColumbia. Thankyou for letting us ride along.
Thanks for riding with us. We love exploring Idaho. We had lots of wildfires in Montana this year as well.
Nice video, I love a good trail ride with beautiful views.
Thanks for riding along. We love exploring trails like this.
Well done
@@SASProductionsGodBlessAmerica Thanks. We appreciate that.
Love doing drives like this.. thank you for sharing!
Thanks for riding along with us. Glad you enjoyed!
We need more diversity there
Thank you for posting that..was there in 2017 for the fire on those roads and often wounder how it looked when it grew back
@@josepholiveri4035 Thanks for watching our video.
Excellent video. Brings back memories. I drove and fished along that road when I lived in Idaho in the 1990s. Please lose the music. The sound of the river is all we need to hear.
Yes, we totally agree that the music is bad. It was one of our first attempts at editing. Thanks for watching anyway!! It's a beautiful rive and drive.
I live at the lake and run that road all the time...
@@karukun0212 Thank you for your military service.
We really enjoyed our time there and hope to come back again! Thanks for riding along with us.
Hi there,I watched your RUclips video. Your every video is really awesome. But your channel and your videos expect more views and subs. I analyzing Your RUclips channel and I found RUclips video SEO is not done. This is why your video is not going virial and views are not increasing. Thank you
Which trail is this? Looks awesome
Thanks for watching our video. This was mostly Manti Canyon Road from Manti, Utah with a few offshoots. We made some loops off the main road and sometimes we had to turn around and go back on the same road.
Hi guys, Love your videos! We’ll be venturing to Idaho next spring, and this is just what I love to see. Thank you, and happy travels! New subscriber😊
@@michelemcdanieltravels Thanks for riding along with us. It’s a beautiful drive!
please do not post anymore about this area !
I absolutely love this drive. I had no idea there were so many elk. a park ranger and I filmed a few of them two years ago. I cannot wait to go back.
@@ivangabrieldesign Glad you enjoyed the video.
bellísimo lugar , excelente video 👍💪💪 🇺🇲
@@eduardoenriqueperez8934 Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
I remember you said you lived there. We ate as much clam chowder & halibut as we could while we were there! 😊
Hey guys looks beautiful did you know we lived in Ninilchik back in the 80’s Sharon and here folks used to by whole king crabs on the spit for $5 they would can them for days broken shelled crabs
That place looks amazing
Yes a really cooked river!!
Thanks Felix!!
I love this!!! Sending love your way from Kentucky!!
Some of the snow on the east side of Skyline Dr. was still there in late September last year.
We sure don't have country like that here in Ohio. I can picture the Indians who lived here and why they fought so hard to keep it. Just beautiful country.
Yes, it's awesome. Thanks for riding along with us
Wow .. thats such a scenic route ..
Yes, it's an area we really enjoy!
Beautiful.
Thank you!
We've made four trips to the Arapeen Trail System and we're planning on going back again this September. We got rained out by Hurricane Hilary last August, but the wildflowers were in full bloom. We went back in late September for the fall colors and weren't disappointed, and the weather was perfect. It's 1,000 miles from home, but worth the trip.
About 600 miles for us. We hope to make the trip again ourselves. Thanks for riding along!
wow that road along the one side of the river really screws up the scenery!
Wow!
My folks lived on this road volunteering with Forest Service. Been to Shoup. Been to Corn Creek. My folks lived further down the river at Lantz Bar. Could only get there by jet boat or hiking. Went there to visit, had to hike out 14 miles back to Corn Creek. Beautiful country, I miss my folks.
Thanks for riding along with us. I hope we brought back some good memories for you!
Interesting ride. Will a 64” rzr fit on that trail and trestle or is it for 50” cars?
I believe that is a 50” trail.
excellent
Thanks!
Ooo! Ooo! My boat at 15:45!
Hey Viking. Thanks for watching our video. After I checked out your channel, I can tell we’re really laid back compared to you. Stay safe out there on the rapids. You ever run by Dug Bar up near Imnaha?
@@ExploringWithJohnAndGlenda Yes, I run Hells Canyon sometimes too.
Was fun to see the trail and bridges again at a slower pace! Nice Bronco. Makes me want to go back.
Thanks JR. Lots to see around Moab and so many roads and trails.
Excellent camera work; high definition, steady, captivating. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for taking us along with you. I sure enjoy the trip.
