Electioneering is not allowed in polling places. No it is not candidate merch. I KNOW what I'm talking about. States do vary on SOME things like the distance. Arizona, decades ago when I worked them there, is 75 feet from entrance. NJ is 100 feet from entrance. Read the definition of 'electioneering'...it says ALL attire, NOT 'candidate's merch'. it is not to deter supporting a candidate/party financially. It is to deter ANY bias towards one or the other candidate/party. You need to familiarize yourself with your state's laws. ALL states include ALL types of elephants or donkeys. ALL things. I do know what I'm talking about here. Even an elephant in a natural setting is not allowed. If you wear something *and your poll workers actually care about upholding LAWS,* they WILL tell you to remove the item from the area, or change and come back, or turn it inside out in the bathroom, immediately. If refused, police are legally allowed to be called to remove you. That is THE LAW in ALL states, ma'am. In fact, *_EVERY polling place is provided with a sign that is supposed to be posted outside, stating what is NOT allowed._* If one is not posted where you vote, then your poll workers are not advising voters ahead of possible issues.

No electioneering INSIDE the polling place. Some states you might be able to wear a party attire OUTSIDE, but INSIDE you cannot. THAT is what I meant. Congress NEEDS to stipulate that any gerrymandering...after census, things shift so parties try garnering votes by wiggling the lines in stupid ways...MUST be done reasonably. I think if the shape looks like a typical shaded area without legs and arms and tentacles, and weirdly shaped, that is sufficient to adjust for the people-moving shifts every 10 years.
