Most important thing is that you are trying to learn the ways of somebody elses culture and that includes the language obviously, while being respectful of it. That is why everybody was so friendly, there is nothing more iirritating than a foreigner that doesn't even try to learn the language or the culture instead expects entire country to adapt to him even tho he is a visitor. If you spoke only english and didn't even try talkin in croatian I guarantee it you would get different reactions.

Another point about Croatia, Croatians were never colonisers or invaders, like the English, Italians, French, Spanish, Dutch, Portugese and others, so what ever they have built it is from their own coffers. I fact Croatia was also plundered through the ages. Croatia was also the first country to ban any forms of slavery in 1416

@lavordavor7738, thanks for your comments! I see where you're coming from, but saying the drivers are lying is a bit off. After this interview, I started working with Wolt and Glovo myself. This line of work is indeed meritocratic. You get out what you put in. Believe it or not, some folks can earn up to €4000 in winter, but you have to understand that they work long hours in the cold/heat and pay more taxes, which helps the Croatian economy. It's a win-win situation for everyone. I'll be making a video soon about my own earnings delivering food in Zagreb. I hope you stick around to see the real picture!

I watched a few of your videos so I know you live in Zagreb or near so you know average salaries after tax are bad there probably 1000 euros How do you think it's possible someone can earn 2600 as delivery guy. to be honest even with overtime I feel 1600 is a strech unless its some kind of scheme where they don't pay tax or retirement fund or sth. No wonder, some Wolt drivers in Finland earn over 6K EUR. They work for aggregators who pay tax and pension and social security tax for them and also charge their fee around 15% I believe. Croatia has strict laws for protecting delivery drivers who are treated as employees and not freelancers with no rights. That makes the ride more expensive for the orderer. They are on the street for 12 hours, which is definitely not as easy as an average 8hr office job. Some workers in supermarkets in Croatia earn 1500 to 1800 for 8hr work, so it's doable. Although I believe on average they earn 1000-1500 EUR

@matiyak4571 I waited 2 months to reply so I could give you accurate info. These guys weren’t lying about their earnings. After the interview, I started working with Wolt and Glovo myself, and it's true. You get paid based on the number of deliveries, and some of these guys work up to 15 hours a day. They’ve come to Croatia specifically for this job and have little life outside of it. I get your skepticism, especially since most jobs in Croatia barely pay up to €1000 after taxes. I also do part-time delivery work in Zagreb and still earn more than most people in regular jobs here. There’s no tax evasion involved, The Croatian government survives off of it, they don't play😂.
