What's my mammoth sniper challenge choice for a pistol? Glock 19.
Glock 19 USPSA

Quick USPSA match using the venerable Glock 19 in Limited Optics...because I didn't want to remove my magwell. Classic Raven Concealment holster and mag pouches.

They make a side ways front sling mount. It is basically the original front sling mount that is fitted sideways and works great for the CAR-15 setup
Excellent breakdown. Will be taking some of these points into account for my own go at it
Great pre and post videos. Which pants are those you are wearing in the post video please. TIA
@@ACFRIUL these are the Cordell combat pants from Tactical Distributors in M90. I don’t think they’re made anymore. ruclips.net/video/AgN36QGUNB8/видео.htmlsi=nb8TTNqQ73yMc86t
@@AmericanAdlerauge1775 Thank you
Can you share some details about your LRF setup? I really want to get an Impact but don't have enough scope estate to have it top mounted (Vudu 5-25). Relative to your 100 yard zero, where is the LRF aiming at? I believe you're the first guy I've seen run the LRF on the side of the rail instead of top mounted.
@@JohnLin39395 the directions/vortex videos are pretty good. It’s meant to be a parallel zero to your reticle so mine is low left (2mils down). This way it’s always in the same position and doesn’t cross your line of sight at further ranges.
@@AmericanAdlerauge1775 Gotcha, so with it mounted on the left side is it also roughly 1 mil left in addition to 2 mils low?
@ it will vary depending on your set particular configuration. Best practice is to set it parallel at 100 then confirm at a few further distances.
Really dug this series of videos. Keep it up!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why does it sound suppressed?
Old but still very relevant.
Right on man! Appreciate the insight 🤙🏽. Great content.
Reliability has to be 100% or its not worth having at all . That shit of your gun going CLICK when you need it is bull shit with no exceptions.
What upper are you using in this weapon system? Is the BCG standard blowback?
@@DAVIDGRIFFIS-b8d home brewed upper; it is a standard blowback configuration with a mil spec BCM upper, Brownells BCG, and old War Sport barrel
Well, I looked up the price on the Geissele mags, just about had ha hear attack, 8rnd $71, 15rnd $82, 20rnd $117, 30rnd $128..... Both my AR-stoner and Duramag are working fine at the moment, I think I will stop looking for now....
Love the looks of the Kryptos, but $550.00 for AUS-8 steel?!?!?!?!
Pretty sure my competing soldiers are carrying over 80 pounds each. They don't have the luxury of choosing the latest and greatest, light weight gear. They are stuck with issue gear. I am glad though as it forces them to work harder and think more critically about the gear they've been issued. See you on the range, best of luck and I hope tonight's weather doesn't cause us any insurmountable issues.
@@jfk767 the majority of this kit is issued in one form or another. If your soldiers are bringing 80lbs for this event they’re doing something wrong. I’d love to hear what they brought/what the actual weights ended up being.
@@AmericanAdlerauge1775 Just by looking at your rifle I can see where some of the weight is. They were using the Mk22 with Storm LRF and it's issue suppressor or the M110 with KAC suppressor. Their issue tripod also weighs about twice what I saw from other competitors. MREs also weigh at least twice what the freeze dried options I saw with most competitors. I could continue but I think you get the point. I just facilitated the opportunity for the state's snipers. Their gear selections were up to them.
@@jfk767 Was your team the group that ended up 16th? Mammoth just shared their post and they definitely were using TA50 which seems odd. There's certain things that work well from CIF like waffles and sleeping bags, but rucks and using the full issued SWS was definitely a respectable choice. The good thing is at least they shot in the top 25% of Mammoth and know what works now from a multiday match that they hump everything except water.
@@JohnLin39395 I'm with the state marksmanship training unit. At lease we call it a unit, really there's just three of us that run the competitive marksmanship program, though we are trying to expand it substantially. That said, neither guard team were my soldiers but both teams were "my soldiers" as I helped set it up. I even provided the ammunition from my own stocks when the state couldn't meet the timeline. The team that ended 16th is from the 1-116th Infantry, the team that ended 50th is from the 193rd Cav. The Cav team hasn't been to sniper school yet, the 115th Inf team has. Both sniper teams had short lead times and didn't have much time to prepare. They weren't required to use their issue gear but I'm glad they did as I believe it provided more lessons learned. We have always referred to the military matches as training disguised as competition because there is always a list of lessons learned in competition. The guys who competed are all in DC supporting the inauguration, mostly directing traffic and helping with logistics, but I hope to get their after action notes and lessons later this week. Hopefully we can continue sending teams to future events. Not only does it support training the soldiers, I think it helps with retaining quality soldiers.
@@jfk767 Awesome to hear. I was one of the Eisenhower teams in the last Mammoth and agree that these competitions are a great way to train and grab lessons learned. I'm interested to see what the sniper qualified team did better compared to the other team. You're one awesome guy to contribute ammo towards the shooters. The base provided ammo for us to shoot, but we provided everything else.
Great video. Hope to see you there
Really dig this series. Interested in your aar.
Hell yeah, PT belt!
No mention of the crocs? unsubscribed

Great video for how you break it down, on paper first, then in person and finally shooting it. Solid info and performance as usual. 👊🏻
New to channel. Do you have a video on that rifle? Is it 6 Arc?

What recoil spring you running ?

All this useful information and I’m gonna ask about that (MK12?) cleaning mat… ?

I appreciate holosun, products are solid and my wife likes their dots on her handguns. Me, I prefer American optics or least that of an ally lol.
Its not Solar.
Correct. You’ll have to change a battery every few years.
Solar is dumb.
is there any issues with the Magwell and 10 or 15 round mags seating?
@@jbcustom3745 the magwell won’t have any effect on a magazine seating in an AR if the mags are a standard profile. 15rd 6ARC mags are essentially the same size as 20rd 5.56 mags so you’ll have plenty of magazine exposed to push/pull or whatever your technique is.
Super cool rifle. Thank you for actually link the videos you referenced in the description.
Thanks this was a great video! Always appreciate info on how to get better. I also appreciate that you showed your score.
Great video! I’d love to see more of these videos.
This club always has some unique stages.
Thanks !
moving so fast!
What’re you mainly doing drills/ dry fire wise for prep ?
Lot of building positions with 1 or 2 shots. The second shot really proves if the position was stable or not.
That first mover is diabolical.
Damn that build came out Beautiful! 👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I love that mk 1(2?) handguard and really want to find one, that would make my day-imp they are the coolest geiselle handguards/ coolest ar 15 handguards to ever be made!
The chest rig is a great option. I use a eberlestock recon bino harness of which I have attached my pistol to it. Gets about 7 or 8 pounds out of my pack and onto my chest. I'll keep my pistol ammo in there as well. Anything to get as much weight off of my back as possible. When setting up the tripod, you'll deploy the legs just prior to the clock starting and carry it to the firing line ready to go. You might have to make some adjustments when shooting, but generally, you're not setting it up from collapsed to ready while on the clock.
In my mind it’s hard to hear that this is an „old“ rifle 😂
Is that an NXS 1-4? I have one with the IHR and I kinda think it's one of the most slept on optics because at the time it was really expensive. Now I just wish I could have a second focal plane NX8 or a 1-4 IHR with the NX8's reticle brightness. Be nice to see more of your less common kit brother.
@@TheSafkan it is the old NXS 1-4. I’ve often said I want a good 1-4x in a more compact package more than I’m interested in a better 1-10x or a 1-15x optic. I’ll do an overview of this optic in the future 👍
I'm in 100% agreement. For a 5.56 light rifle 1-4 is all I need within 300m. I really like the 1-8 Atacr but it feels like a dmr/7.62 gas gun optic because of the weight. Do you feel like ffp optics are slower up close? I find sfp more appropriate for anything sub 8x magnification.
@ I don’t think First Focal Plane optics are slower at 1x or at closer distances. The guy who won PCSL Nationals in Practical Division used a Nightforce NX8…as he would say: “skill issue.”
Very nice. Always appreciate the little quality of life improvements like this guys are coming out with.
This is a very humbling drill. Lol...
What 9mm upper are you using? or which one would you recommend for these?
@@Johnoneill1991 this is a homebrew upper; I think any of the JP uppers or the new MAUL are top notch. I thought the JP shot better but that’s a very quick experience shooting them back to back.
PSA 9MM complete upper is awesome. I have the 4” and the 8”.
@ thanks!
Curious about your arm board, never seen one that is so minimalist but still works
@@hansjurgen that’s the TAB Gear A3 Arm Band. I looked hard to find a quarterback sleeve that wasn’t a sleeve. Definitely a better option in the heat but the elastic can become uncomfortable if you have it tight all day
Love the work
