My favorite part is where the bird that he imagined taught him the definition of a word he had never heard before.
Saying "Probably" shouldn't be admired is giving him a ton of credit.
Oh look - another ragin hypocrite!

"Church is an all God damn day affair". My mom can't ever hear this episode. I would either be exorcised, or lobotomized. 😅
I don't think Mom is physically capable of listening to us for that long.
I think I said "Jesus Christ!" more in this episode than all the others. 😂
Ironic, dontcha think?
Very informative!!! Thank you
Strange how the people who want to tell everyone else how to live are always weird little freaks.
@@JamieChambers that would be the criteria. Normal people don't give a shit what you do.

This is a lovely thing to watch at midnight! Eliza is the best!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun with this one.

I was gobsmacked by the idea that Hamilton humiliated his family and ruined his political career in order to avoid debtor's prison.
It's the fact that all of the facts didn't make it into Hamilton's biography. That's what I find awful.
Did we forget to introduce ourselves? 😂
I think we were punch-drunk by the time we got to Part Two.
Thanks! I'm not as good at this as Jamie is, but I worked really hard and I loved the subject.
You did a great job!
Thank God for editing! It's like I don't have aphasia at all! 😂
this is pretty good
Thank you! Part Two should be up next week, with new episodes on different topics coming in August!
Thanks for listening!
@@ChainsawHistoryPod I love Eliza how could I not listen!
@@Starzxx25 I got one impression of Eliza from Ron Chernow's biography of Hamilton, and Bambi made me realize Chernow didn't do a good job of conveying who she really was. There's some really juicy stuff coming up in Part 2!
@@JamieChambers can't wait to watch!
This episode catches RUclips up to the podcast feed! I need to finish editing Part Two before we record and release new episodes in August!
What the heck is this lol
It’s this strange thing we keep doing and putting on the internet!

Nice that you have “Indiana Smith” as played. Tom Selleck!
Do you preferred mustache or stubble?
@@JamieChambers there are choices to be had here. The grown women have been heard. And time has told a story. There are reasons for casting calls. 😉

Thank you both for bringing back the magic that television and movies used to be. I preferred the "old Indy" as portrayed in this show to that other thing Disney did.
I'm such a die-hard about keeping George Hall's "Old Indy" I'm going to keep the gag going even after the stuff he actually filmed. I'm imagining him bookkending Raiders of the Lost Ark as an old windbag and it's amazing.
She was a super cool lady that died horribly.
Gave her life for science!
Fight for prison reform!
I forgot that I actually did research for these 😂
Believe it or not you don't always phone it in!
@@JamieChambers sometimes I like not having to do a lot research. I didn't do any for Abe Lincoln.
I want my pirate movie!
He's already been a vampire hunter. Now you're just being greedy.

18:04 There's still some of the Social Gospels around, noticably the Brethren Church that I grew up in was a big part of the teachings.
Minor crossover with the Frances Perkins episode!
In the song sweet home Alabama the line where the governor's true is referring to the clip you played from his speech referring to segregation
These were the books I learned to read with! I still have them, too. They're not the best things ever at all, but I definitely have a lot of nostalgia for them
I have a love/hate relationship with these books.

This is me using footage from an older video to make something to go with the Columbus video. We'll do better Shorts for future Value Tales episodes!
"Mutiny Of Rage" book I will check out. Thank u.
It's a solid read. Recommended.
Will definitely check out the 1st (non-KHOU) book u mentioned.
Thank u 4 teaching truth that racist segregation spread from northern U.S., 1st, then to the southern U.S.
1917 U.S.: right b4 KansasPigFarmPandemic was labeled "Spanish flu." 🙄
Since Spain was neutral in the war, they were the only country actually reporting the truth about the pandemic. Because the news came from Spanish newspapers, it was picked up as the "Spanish Flu" by the English-speaking public.
I'm used to getting angry our outraged when doing these episodes. This was the first time I got choked up to where I had a hard time reading my own script.
So I first heard this story mentioned on the channel The Roads With Beau and then immediately went to read about it in the New York Times. After falling down the research rabbit hole I realized this was a story that needed to be shared.
This was my one and only time leading a "Value of" episode. Bambi is the far better choice at this format and frees me to react and crack wise-usually her job! Also a great opportunity to mention that Christopher Columbus was a piece of 💩.
How should I personally feel? I'm a person, by god. Should I ignore human instincts? Should I pretend not ALL humans have them? Is it more my fault because of melonin? Herstory? Idk, but sis ain't really trying. She just be agreeably contrary, verbally. Yall agree and work together well. One can admire that. I've a twin sister myself. Yall stop being sorry for other people. Nobody respects a sycophant.
Hey - appreciate you listening and taking the time to comment. We try not to tell anyone else how to feel, though we have strong opinions and share our genuine reactions. I really value my sister's perspective and reactions to the stories I share with her, though of course everyone's mileage may vary.
@@JamieChambers I'm sold. Well done.
I'm going to read those books. Much obliged, yall.
oh dang, yo....noice.
Great podcast. 5 stars. ⭐😂
Top tier comment. No notes.
Thanks for listening! 😛
If it's not fun for me, I'm not doing it. 😂
David F. Klugler wrote a good book called “1919 The Year of Racial Violence.” It details how African Americans fought back against mob attacks in that year. And, your podcast is well done. Thank you.
Thank you! When I learned about this story I fell down a rabbit hole and felt like I had to share it.
One of the topics we hope to cover in the future is Oscarville, Georgia and the creation of Lake Lanier.
