With due respect: Awikonko of Ile-Ife started this mess when Ooni was enthroned. He was the first Ife blogger who reignited the supremacy crisis. He released his evil ewi eulogizing Ooni as being superior to Alaafin at that time. None of you bloggers came out to reprimand Awikonko distorting Yoruba history at that time. Like Awikonko did for Ooni at that time, Almaaaf being a bonafide Omo Oyo is also defending his ancestral traditional monarch supremacy and correcting Ife boys' historical fallacies. The only offense Almaroof is being rebuked for waa his unfounded allegation that Ooni was meddling or interfering with the selection of the new Alaafin. He shouldn't have said that. He had realized his mistake attacking Ooni without evidence. To placate the Ooni, Almaaroof had recounted the false accusation and publicly apologized to Ooni of Ife. What else do you ife bloggers want. Whereas Awikonko and his Ajanaku Akewi of Ile-Ife had repeatedly ridiculed Alaafin and Oyo people in the past. None of you had condemned them because they are ife boys defending Ooni of Ife. In the interest of peace, Awikonko and Ajanaku Akewi should also be called to order. They ignited this controversy since Ooni Ojaja was enthroned. Both Alaafin and Ooni are the recognized Yoruba traditional leaders in different but complimentary capacities. While Ooni was regarded as the custodian of Ife throne and the spiritual father of the Yoruba people, Alaafin was recognized as the political head of the Yoruba nation. In his official capacity, Alaaafin Adeyemi 1, the grand father to the late Ikubabayeye Atanda Alowolodu signed international treaties with the colonial authorities as the Alaafin of Oyo, the King of Yorubas and Yorubaland. In order for peace to reign, let Yoruba support both Ooni and Alaafin as they shared joint leadership supremacy over Yorubaland but in different capacities. Ife bloggers should stop promoting Ooni of Ife as being superior to Alaafin. Aare Almaaroof and his Oyo supporters should also stop propagating Alaafin supremacy. Both Ooni and Alaafin are important to youruba progress. Ooni is Arole Oduduwa while Alaafin is Oluomo Oramiyan and Oranmiyan was the Aremo Oduduwa. Let try to find ways to reconcile Ooni the Arole Oduduwa and Alaafin the progeny of Aremo Oduduwa. We need both descendants of both Arole Oduduwa and Aremo Oduduwa to unite for Yoruba race progress.
