Lava Falls, Grand Canyon, AZ | Aug 26, 2011 | 25,600 CFS Whitewater Rafting Dave Lava Right Side Aug 26 2011 14 Foot Hyside Raft Lava Falls 25,600 left and right runs No Flip Thanks to Tom T and his crew for videoing the runs and being kind enough to allow us to post it.
I ran left side in a 14ft achilles ( just left of the ledge, no passenger) and a right side run in an 18 ft sotar (just right of the ledge, 3 passengers). I dont feel I cheated one way or the other. You scout, choose a line, make adjustments if needed. Loads of fun and adrenaline. No need regretting a successful run, the river gods may get you next time.

Did this on a huge tourist barge in ‘95, Connie my guide was the best, think I caught a crush. She motored up river and we did all but the first drop twice!
During the two trips down the river I made - once in a paddle boat and once on an oar boat, both over 14 day trips, we had only one raft flip but no injuries. There was one new rapid on my 2nd trip due to a rock fall. I rode the snout of the oar boat thru Lava falls. I think I was underwater for most of it. My best vacations ever.

How about completing the series and showing up a middle run🤔
That first boat on the right had an easy gravy train run after his trouble at the entrance. The left boats didn't need to do much rowing.

I would still run right just enter right beside the hole and that’s the run straight shot down
Wow, 25.6 let's you take easy sneak routes left, it's almost cheating. And the cheese grater is nearly a pourover !
Nice right side lines, especially the little boat! No point in doing the Canyon if you cheat Lava on the left...
You owe it to the Great Wematanye.

Pretty 'easy' across the board at 26K. The second V on the right side is gone at this water.
The right line boaters greased it! That run is gnar'central, watch it again. Props deserved. Even left run!
