Having fun restoring old bikes and vehicles - hopefully making them better along the way - doesn't always happen. Hope you'll join me on the journey!
Lowrider bike - what part is this?
Been a while, but hopefully this walkthrough, as I strip down and rebuild one of my bikes helps you identify parts you may need. Also the tools required to work on the 8 Ball Lowriders!

Foo fighters Taylor Hawkins Tribute - Everlong
Просмотров 1562 года назад
Filmed live at Wembley Stadium London UK. Was a great tribute to Taylor, never seen so many grown men cry, when Dave Grohl cried - I was one of them! This video does no justice to being there, but hopefully gives some idea. Miss you Taylor - along with the rest of the world.
New Project just in!

Been a while, but back. Two apologies to make - one the time since last video, but was involved in a car accident - two didnt realise the mic had damage, I've done the best with editing to compensate. But didnt know until after id recorded everything. New one has arrived for next video!!
Lets get this bike built!

Its been 12 months in the making, so time to get it done. All parts are in, zero space in the workshop (so plenty of videos/content to come), so we'll work around all the other stuff! Comment below if you can guess the artist and song this bike features in??
Beetle - Engine upgrade??
Просмотров 1852 года назад
Decided to have a look at the engine that used to be in the 56 oval, but had locked up (water down the carbs). Put a mix of stuff in the cylinders to free it up. Figured lets do a basic overhaul of it and get it ready to go back in - this episode - stripdown

Time to upgrade the workshop!

Been a while, but been busy, first on the list was to get the floor sorted, so many parts dropped and lost, plus rolling around on dusty concrete is no fun. New project has arrived, so that'll be coming soon guys!!!
Lowrider - what wheels do I have??
Просмотров 2 тыс.3 года назад
Had a few viewers ask about different wheel sizes on Lowrider bikes, so put this short video together - hope it answers more questions than it raises! Happy to create some short videos if you have specific questions.
Big build - Part 2 - plus whats up next
Просмотров 2013 года назад
Been a while, so done a bit of work on the big build, but also been lining up the next project while waiting on the last few parts. Hope you enjoy. Please comment and let me know what you'd like to see me do on the channel more bike builds, lowrider instructional videos, car projects - after all, doing this for you guys! thanks for the continued support.

Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
So finally started the big build tribute bike, thought I would go through how the bikes are put together and what tools you need to take one apart. Hope its useful and this is the start of the best build yet!

Просмотров 1,1 тыс.3 года назад
Bit of something different, still 8 Ball Lowrider, but a bit rarer than the standard ones. Hope you enjoy and apologies to the fashion police for the footwear - Crocs and socks - I'm hanging my head in shame!

Fitting a Diesel Heater - Time to warm up the Workshop
Thanks!!!
I was watching this, then the word “Rat ride” was said. No thanks I’ll watch no more of this.
You've done a brilliant job, but I'm surprised the owner didn't have the chrome brought up a bit, just to have something to polish. Still, excellent job, and great content to watch.
Looks like instant shoe polish?
Ive got one of these, ive got the gear stick the derailleur all in fair condition, not got the seat or sissy bar. But everything is original, have you still got it ?
@@tonyhomeboy no it got sold about 12 months ago. By the sounds of it you’ve got the hardest to find parts. The sissy bar and banana seat are easy to find - after market ones match up pretty well.
@TheRestorationShack I'm selling mine,it's 50% restored, frame and forks repainted in orange. Everything is original except the rear wheel. How much would you say its worth, because I havnt a clue 🤔
Hola buenos días saludos tengo un cuadro de vicicleta igual
Hola buen día saludos yo tengo un cuadro de esemismo modelo
Thanks, very valuable! I'm off to do mine now!
I swapped my Chopper mk2 ultra violet for one in 1975 and a big mistake at the time, wish I still had it.
Thanx for your video!!! Realy helpful for me! I have to do this Today 👍
Great video! Exactly, what I needed to know .
Fun project and good breakdown vid.
great job
great ob on chopper
Merci beaucoup !
Those wheels look like a nightmare to fix. Soooo many spokes.
Bravo
Thanks
Take the stickers off!
Can you do mine
What type of bolt did use for the antenna?
I just put it on the rear axle, then add another axle nut or slightly thinner nut with same thread after I have set the back wheel up. Hope this helps
@@TheRestorationShackdid you put a washer as well?
My lowrider bike is almost done i still need steering wheel and chain guard and benders front and back and led lights and horn siren and mirrors on the side of my handlebars. Im gonna add more to the bike
Can honestly say i had one in 1973 , at the time i hated it because all my mates had choppers and it was just a cheap ugly alternative at the time. HOWEVER , id love to own one now and not a chopper , its so cool !!!
Im getting mine finished to cruise its gonna look 187 kos homie gold and chrome G once its finished i already have my forks and my sissybar and hand grips i waitin on my handlebars and my steering wheel front and back benders mirrors and i was thinking of getting sirens for my lowrider bike that would be krazy at least everyone will come eyeballing my ride and take picture's of it me sitting on it and maybe a woman standin next to me in a bikini😂😂i hope its Jenny69 hell yeah i will not have 400pnd torta and lady stinks near my ride hell no👎
appreciate the great video & info
OMG. Had one, myself, just like this, circa 1970, I believe. Don't remember the MK1 or MK2 designations, but it was black and orange, and the one in the video certainly looks like the exact same thing. I'm from the U.S., and remember it being something of a novelty, and not held in the same status as Schwinn. Traded it in on a 'ten-speed', when I got old enough (and long enough legs) to ride a 26" frame. Certainly had no idea that those Choppers would become 'collectable'. Sort of makes you wonder what else the parents decided to get rid of - G.I. Joes, Creepy Crawler makers, and sadly, many of the original 45 and LP records from the late sixties (even some imports) and the portable hi-fi we used to play them on. Ah well, still have the memories, and now we have the internet to re-live it. LOL.
Any chance you could give me the dimensions of the red plastic gear know thingy. Looking for £30 on eBay for two bits of plastic that I could fabricate if t had measurements. Just picked up a mk2 in same condition as yours.
very helpful, thank you.
Hi mate that is a mk2 crossover and is quite a rare bike 🚲 I'm just referbing one now on my channel and do believe your friend should have let you go further with it as it looks like a rusty wreck. At least give the frame a tcut to bring out more colour before the clear coat and done a bit of work on the mudguards and breaks to make them a bit shiny. To me the whole thing is a pointless exercise as it pretty much looks the same as when you started but each to their own. Cheers 🍻
Hi, I agree with you on what stage it should or could have gone, as it was not mine, I carried out the owners wishes. He has it on display and wanted it "rideable" of sorts, but wanted it preserved as he found it, as it was in his uncles hedge - after he had left it 30 - 40 years previous. It is more a sentimental piece than anything, so preserving it sort of as is, preserves the story too.

Where did you get that rim kit from
Hi, I had stripped the wheels down previously, so they were not a kit, but an actual wheel originally. The guy had intended to hold plate everything, but he decided not to
I have a question, I have this lowrider trike and the back two tires are slanted and rub against the bar. How do I fix it
Decent rider, serviced resto.. thanks for the vid..
would you recomend steel whool?
With so much technology they should manufacture those bicycles again, greetings
Ian brown
WD40 the best 😊
haha alll these years, I had no idea, always ASSumed!
Hardly restored its a rusty pig !
It’s done as the owner wanted - he wanted it rusty but rideable 👍
Donde podemos conseguir piezas de estilo low rider?
Muy lento ?
Is this George Harrison's red Mercedes?!
Looks like converting it into a multi speed is out of the question
Luv your work thank you ❤
I had a Cross 70 when I was a child it was slightly different the tyres are the correct. The gear shift was 3 speed with a shifter similar to the Riley Cooper. With a Tbar design. The seat was white with 2 or 3 red stripes, there was a matching backrest that could be adjusted up & down. The back support bar is original it was chrome.
Start with the sprocket and crank... Then rear end, then seat and get the entire rear end completely done ✅ then start on the front end with the front tire, fender and all that already completely built onto the forks..... Then connect it to the frame and then add the handle bars with all the mirrors and fun stuff already on....... 3 steps to the finale assembly. Done 👍😊👍
Youve put your cables on wrong yah clown 😂
Care to give a clown more info?
@@TheRestorationShack look at other peoples bikes gear cable should be on inside of frame your front brake cable holder nut and bolt is wrong way round nut should be on back of caliper
Theres a locating lump on that wedge for steering you never located it in this video
Would love to see part 2…the bike looking like new again !!!
I did another couple of videos on this. Didn’t take it back to perfect. Just cleaned and serviced most things. I was unable to find the 3 speed shifter, so decided to make it rideable for the next guy. Think they have kept as is and simply ride it for fun.
Had mobo cross brand new in 1972..friggin loved it..orange & beautiful…sissy bar was chrome with back pad..gear shift was not indexed..had a wooden MB knob
