Freedom Tour 2024 Colorado to Utah 9-26-2024
Here's the trip from my niece's place in Parker CO, to the hotel in Utah. I was going to stay in Dinosaur CO, well because it's called Dinosaur, but the hotel was pretty scary haha, so I opted for a hotel in Vernal, UT. It wasn't much better... ah well the adventure continues.

Skydive from 16,000ft out of a Cessna 182 at Skydive Colorado Springs, taking it to the extreme for my birthday! This was so much fun, and yes I'm going back next year!! See you all on the ground!

This is my favorite ride yet. And if you've been wondering how fast some of these speeds are, the end of the video when the bike is parked you can see the flags fluttering, when I leave and ride through the town, I'm going 20 mph. So you know, it's not nearly as fast as it looks.

So the battery in the phone was dying and I had to switch to the USB plug that usually powers the GoPro. So the GoPro finally ran out of power. The ride back to Rapid City would have been nice to have, it started to rain and the clouds made it dark about 40 mins earlier than sunset, so I rode back in the dark and rain AND WIND!! No titles on this one, it's been a crazy day.

I had to leave very early to get back on track. Basically I needed to make up 70 miles. So again as I'm packing up hoping to get ahead of the rain (it was due at 07:00), but much like day one, I got rained on. In the dark. What are the freaking odds. haha. Don't know if you can tell, but I rode with my hazards on. It was sooooooo dark. haha.

So on my day I would have visited Yellowstone, I instead made the loop around the Madison Range. I'm glad it worked out this way, this was a great ride, and I meet some very cool people on it. I'll be ride through Yellowstone tomorrow on my way to Buffalo, WY.

I discovered this road a few weeks ago but never knew the name. Now it's one of my favorite short loops in the area. Great surprise with the fog! Mom is gonna love this one.

It's not sped up, it is a timelapse. 2 frames per second.
@@justbeingmybestbob No, I know it's not sped up... but it still "plays" too fast to see and understand and enjoy unless I "slow it down."
@@MrEdwardCollins Oh, I see. Yeah to catch a lot, like if you want to actually see the bison I passed, you do have to slow it down. Maybe I'll go in later and add chapter markers at some of the sights.

Nevermind the soundtrack. What I want to know is how many miles was that viddeo, and how fast were you really going, and HOW FAR did we travel? Lastly, how WET did you get? Yes, I watched it to the end.
@@judithcollins3744 310 miles. I ride at close to the speed limit, give or take depending on the conditions. In this case, with the gear on the bike, the first hour or so I'm usually right on the posted limit, when I get more comfortable as I ride I do tend to pick up the pace. In the downpour I was at 35 at one point!! I'll try to post the mileage in the descriptions going forward.

Pan the view 90% to the left, and do the trip like you'd see it on a bus ride. More to see because you're not distracted by the road spinning by in the front. I'm seeing things I never noticed on this trip. Very cool. Tomorrow, I think I'll take this trip sitting and looking out the other side of the bus.
The videos with music seem more like I am on the ride too, even though the sounds of the road is really what I;d be hearing like this. Seems like we got use to music in videos. Thanks, Hollywood film makers.

I've never heard of a "melon pace" but I guess it just means slower. Nice pace for viewers to be able to look around at the scenery. Very relaxing.

I like going on these rides with you. When I'm tired of tv or the computer and want a nice relaxing break, I turn to your rides, and sit back comfortably, sip my tea, and enjoy the wild country. Best when there are no other people or vehicles for miles. Keep them coming.
What kind of camera are you using to record these trips? A GoPro? This video is 47 minutes long. How long can you record until the battery has to be recharged/replaced?
Yes, a GoPro. In this video my settings got changed by accident, so it could have been recording for the entire ride, which was about 4 hours, with one battery change. I usually get about 2 hours out of one battery. Unfortunately, I forgot the spares. 🤦🙀😹
