Lost Footage of Lupron
This is a cut of several pieces of footage that i didn't have any particular reason to post, some because i thought i lost the footage, and some because it simply has gotten behind the times, and thus inaccurate to how things look now.

Generator Strainer Clean-out
Просмотров 6314 дней назад
We noticed soot in the aft head from where the anti siphon was set up for the generator. as a general note if your inbuilt marine generator doesn't have enouph water coming out the exhaust you likely have a problem. this work is stuff that has to be done around once a year.

Coconut Hound Haven
Просмотров 6228 дней назад
Among the places we have traveled, Lupron has, by far, the highest number of dogs I have seen in a long time. Many of these dogs are homeless, which led to the creation of Coconut Hound Haven. This dog shelter takes care of as many of these animals as possible, providing necessary medical care such as vaccinations and spaying or neutering to improve their lives. Additionally there is a fundrais...

Our blackwater pump broke once again and on one of the worst possible times, right before a friends birthday party. It took us a few hours but we made it in time for pizza, and thus far the pump has been working normally.

Walking Through Fort Casey
Просмотров 103Месяц назад
While visiting family in Washington state i explored one of my favorite places from my childhood, Fort Casey. it was a defensive fort part of a 3 part defense of the Puget sound in Washington state consisting of three forts. Fort Casey is by far the one in the best shape out of all of them and due t that gives one a window into what military fortifications used to look like in the ages before m...

Beaufort to the Chesapeake

Continuing the story of our first boat, this video covers our journey from Beaufort to the Chesapeake. We faced challenges like running aground, diving for a lost bolt, and dealing with engine problems that kept us from an Atlantic crossing. Along the way, we also welcomed a baby sister.

Super cool! Love the dogs!
Thanks
You're Welcome! We have 3 of these pumps and this is our second rebuild so I'm sure the next one is coming! The Vacuflush system is wonderful. Originally I thought it was too complicated but they work wonderfully. And really, as you see the rebuild is very simple.
We hope it helps!
Thanks.. The wife & I, & kids have a 3-5 yr plan to save, & downsize..& be out on the Ocean, on a boat of our own..
indeed always air on the side of caution, however you must also if going underway play only so far as you can. weather changes, winds shift unpredictably and even the best radar can be wrong. so plan for what you can, take precautions about safety, but you must also be able to adapt to changing scenarios.
What we have been doing in these videos is an attempt to show what normal people on a normal budget can do. No pretty crews or fake traveling.
It was so great to catch up with you this morning.
We love hearing your stories.
Such an important lesson! And excellent perspective for this east coaster who sometimes forgets that history also happens on the west coast. Thank you.
I very much enjoyed this. Hold hope, Wanda. My children have grown up much the same and I am still working our small farm including harvesting animals and vegetables and putting up foods. Even sweet potatoes! I am grateful for your sharing your history.
Wanda said when i told her this comment: Thanks so very very much. Glad you enjoyed my sharing. Are there any other stories you'd like to hear or know more details about. im really glad for the things you are doing. I hope you are enjoying the experiences you and your children are having living this lifestyle. Those days seem further away then ever now that i am living on a boat. The farms here in the Dominican republic are amazing and the vegetables are amazing.
When u order jesus from TEMU dingy dingy😂
Hannah is a rockstar! Completely agree - Beaufort has changed tremendously from when I was here in the early 90s. BUT it brought us together so I remain grateful for that among other reasons! Wondering if you took the prop to Bull's shop. I would like to learn more about your diving with your own boat.
Yes good advice. Thx!
Enjoyed this episode very much. Thank you for sharing your life. Beautiful.
The still holding exchanger is not ugly - it is decoupaged into art! So glad you now have a backup! I learned a lot regarding the use of epoxy with fabrics. Thank you.
So we just replaced it today. It failed just today and filled our bilge with rusty water again. When we heard the bilge pump going off we knew we knew exactly what it was. But hey, it lasted nearly a month! I think that the elbow pin hole repair failed not the fabric wrapped epoxy section. (the woven plastic fabric we used was from a bag of rice) There was green around the elbow by the pin hole. During the repair it was difficult to get the epoxy all the way in the elbow. I think we're going to fix it again and keep it as a spare. It might even have been another pinhole that elbow has sections that are thin as paper. But now that we have a new one in with a zinc and grounded I'm sure it will last a good long while. As a note, you don't need to have the heat exchanger near the engine. You can run hoses anywhere and put it in a more accessible place so we are going to investigate that in the future. A note about the hydraulic line: Not only did I use epoxy coated cloth, but under the cloth I put a layer of wire cross wrapped around the failing hose first. It took quite a bit of wire to wrap the hose about 3-4 inches on each side of the blow out. I was pretty upset when it failed later, but then, I saw it failed in a different area not the repair. Epoxy is tough stuff.
We love hearing your stories.
You were bold because you had the Word with you. This story would be marvelous told from Hannah's and Sam's (if he remembers) and Wanda's perspectives. As a wife and a mother it can be so hard yet so easy to follow my Husband into what seems like a really bad idea. Sometimes I have been obedient, sometimes I have not. God bless y'all.
Shalom Achy & Family Funny we both have Hebrew Roots And Drank Wine ate Challah together Living on our Sailboats ⛵ ⛵ Thank you for this wonderful Life Story Hashem is Tov Shalom
I have only ever had boiled peanuts in the shell. Never heard of them shelled already. Are peanuts called peanuts in the DR?
A great lesson in there! Thank you for sharing with those of us building our bravery for cruising. Enjoyed the time with Lilah. Hello to all!
Shalom Achy & Family I love this Story Telling Video I want all of you to have a very Wonderful Beautiful Day Shalom
Did the epoxy work? How do you mitigate the metal shavings from the drilling?
A shopvac and lots of wet rags
All of this (minus the electric fence - ouch!) is very familiar to me (vintage 1973) and our five kids all raised on the east coast. How special to have such beautiful stories generations and a continent apart. Thank you for sharing!
Quite a story, and you are still sailing. I (Shannon) am impressed!
So nice to hear your story Wanda, and to see your beautiful face! Shannon
Turns out peanuts and rice ain't so bad
Shalom I hope you all are safe during the Hurricane Beryl

This is why im buying a pilothouse stay inside and safe
Until just one of those nice big windows breaks, allowing huge ammounts of water to get in every time a big swell covers the boat... 🤷♂
SO SCARY! Grateful y'all made it through so that I could meet you and such that you gained experience. Serious experiential learning. What a great idea to share stories. I LOVE IT! And I also enjoyed the rain sounds. It's been weeks since we had rain. I also enjoyed Lilah's voice.
Wow!
I really appreciate this story and you yall for going through that and still going love it
It was nice meeting you guys at the Captain’s table the other week SV Scrimshaw Rafael and Mel
Sailing~Good morning~Super. insane traveler!😎
HEY! good morning!
Great information, looking at solar for our boat. Thank you.
Your very welcome.
We wish we had an arch or something to put panels on. However when we go sailing we can move the panels and put them under one of the mattresses in the overhead berth. This keeps our decks clear when sailing. We don't want waves destroying our panels offshore. What kind of boat?
37' Grady - my. Hoping to get it cruising this Autumn. So far it has just been a fisher on and off shore.
Great sound track! Is this your own original music Steve?
Yes yes it is.
hi Neighbors! 😊
Beautiful ♥️
Thank you! 😊
Happy Mother's Day, Wanda and Hannah!
This is a sad and an uplifting update. Sad about the reef and, of course, Haiti. Uplifting that there remain remote spaces to enjoy. Thank you.
Yeah, glad you're making way.
WOW - so much, YAY for cooperative engine. Stop at every island and soak it in as you can. The night video - YIKES! Seeing the video was so much more impactful than the great detail in the blog. Lilah is always a bonus. Thank you!
Hi y’all!! Glad you enjoyed the video! We’re actually working on the next video now! Does everyone watch or just you? If there’s something you want to see or hear please let us know!
I enjoy Hannah sharing how she prepares. Hello to all!
Shabbat Shalom Hello Family very good video Thank you Tudah
Shalom Family Steven Tudah thank you for being such a good teacher for me personally I call this a part 2 on my Furler Roller to know
glimpses of Lilah are the bonus to the intermittent issues!
what kind of boat is she?
1970 Hinckley 48
Love watching this classic Hinckley sail. One thing I noticed when you were racing is that the genoa sheet fairlead could be shifted aft a bit more to improve the sail shape and get a *tiny* bit more speed. Looks beautiful, enjoy!
WOW! Perhaps, you've got good eyes! I was trying to pull the top of the sail tighter rather than the foot. This sail seems to like a little more belly in the bottom. If you tighten up the foot you can pinch a little more but you dump some wind off the top.
How about more Drone footage... or is it illegal to use Drones there.
Drone footage techincally needs permission from the bahamian government. Random unocupied islands in the exhmas are one thing, ocupied islands are another.
Did you compose your own music?
Hey Crunch! yes this is my own music
Your audio is coming out "tinny". what kind of Mic are you using? I'm going to "contact in the desert" and using my iPhone to video document it all. I get my Electric Wheelchair next week. It will give me heaps of freedom.
It's usually just the mic on the Go-Pro, but when we try to isolate the voice with noise reduction it turns out tinny... sorry.
Hi Stephan, great video as always. Thanx for taking me aboard Grace. You are definately "out producing" me. But you got some extra hands in editing your video. I'm using DaVinche Pro, and I just upgraed my Ableton Live, and got a midi keyboard, but lack the health in putting it all together. As usual, you got yet another "Like" from me, keep up the good work... 74 degrees is cold... Hah! Yea dude... Nothing yet from the FCC, still pending.
