This was an overview, not a review.
I'm getting my first "old" PK grill and I love the history that you provided here... Thank you! It's funny considering that the most history I've seen in this video didn't even come from an American! Glad you appreciate it all!
Hey, thanks for you comment and congrats on getting your first PK grill! When you say ‘old’ PK grill, is it a pre-owned classic version? Whichever, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.🤠👍
To every comment in here about them being made in China, I'm assuming then you all have Samsung phones and not the iPhone correct? I highly doubt it. Even PK's biggest competitor the Weber Kettle had some models made in China. Corporations use Chinese manufacturing, it's literally been a thing since the 80's.
Totally agree! Thanks for dropping your comment.🤠👍
I’m not buying that Chinese junk.
@@redstone5149 I think the American designers of the PK360 might take issue with you calling it Chinese junk.
@@kiwicowboybbq …do the American designers go to China and make these? I think not. Therefore, Chinese manufacturing quality is implemented. That equals junk.
@@redstone5149 There would be no reason for the designers to be directly involved in the casting process in China unless they were also overseeing quality control which I’m sure PK engages in. Everything about my experience using the PK360 disqualifies your blanket statement that Chinese manufacturing equals junk. Nothing at all junky about my PK360.
What the hell is aluminum?
Probably the same as the international standard 'Aluminium' which is how it's referred to here in the UK.🤠👍
Warning. This grill is unfortunately made in China. Avoid! As of this writing only the “Original” PK is manufactured in Arkansas. Cheers
I’m amused by your overly dramatic warning about made in China. I understand your sentiment for USA manufacturing. Check out my Blackfire Indiana Joe Offset video. But warning! It’s made in Italy!🤠👍
@@kiwicowboybbq hehe, supporting Italy is fine. Supporting an authoritarian regime is not. Of course I’m overly dramatic. I lived in China for over ten years. It forever changed my mind and taught me the importance of having values. Values that guides me. Quality over quantity, ethics over greed. Never feed your enemy.
@openworked, I don’t consider myself to be supporting an authoritarian government. I possibly don’t own a single electronic item which doesn’t contain a Chinese manufactured component. I’m not about to give up my iPhone, MacBook, TV, or the German vehicle I drive which might have a Chinese manufactured component. I appreciate your point of view and personal conviction but it’s a very high bar to set. Even my adidas trainers are made in China - darn it! Ha ha
KIWI, DOES MOST ANY KIND OF OAK WORK? I HAVE HAD SOME WATER AND PIN OAKS CUT AND THOUGHT OF USING THEM ONCE I GET A GRILL LIKE YOURS? THANKS FOR YOUR KINDNESS TO REPLY WHEN YOU HAVE TIME. SUBSCRIBED!
I believe pin oak and water oak are ok for smoking but do some research to be double sure. Get your wood split and dried out(seasoned) so it burns well.
DO YOU SEASON BOTH SIDES?
Liberal seasoning all over. Thanks for watching 🤠👍
@@kiwicowboybbq I HOPE "LIBERAL" IS ONLY FOR SEASONING! LOL! THANKS FOR THE INFO, GREAT VID!
Far from a review more like “honest advertising”
Thanks, yes I agree. This was my first self produced video expressing my honest opinion of why I bought the PK360. The style turned out to be very promotional. Thanks for watching.🤠
Too bad you didn't mention that the PK 360 is cast in China.. Only the PK Original is cast in the USA.
Where the PK360 is cast didn’t have any bearing on my decision to purchase it and I don’t feel I needed to address this in the review. Thanks for watching.🤠
For many people it DOES matter where a product is manufactured. For me it did matter, so when I bought the PK360 a couple of years ago I was extremely disappointed that it is made in China. Please note that PK does everything to hide this information, going so far as proudly present the thermometer (as it is the ONLY part made in USA on this grill).
It’s no secret the PK360 is manufactured in China. A little research will reveal that. American designed and Chinese manufactured - I’m ok with that. Of course it would have been nice for PK to continue their heritage by manufacturing in Arkansas but I guess it comes down to economics. As is the case with many American and global companies - a lot of manufacturing takes place abroad. I’m a huge fan of the PK original and would love to own one. In the mean time I won’t be swapping my PK360 anytime soon.
I love my PK360. It’s a bit more of an investment, but well worth it. The fuel efficiency is amazing and once the temp is dialed in you can smoke for hours. Thanks for the nice review.
Yeah, I still love the PK360. Great investment. Thanks for watching and commenting!🤠
looking seriously delicious
PK360 Is an awesome grill by itself, however the stand with such small wheels could use reengineering. Difficult to move around, especially in grass.
This is one of my concerns, since I would have to move it around on a gravel driveway, I would leave it in my front yard next to the kitchen but I don’t want a dirt bag to steal a 800 dollar grill! My other concern is some people saying after 5 plus hour cook the bottom vent is covered in ash, that would irritate me!
Very nice grill
How about pulling the string off first
Ha ha! Yes, definitely. It’s surprising how you can overlook the basics when you’re wrangling lights, cameras and trying to produce a cook video. It’s all a work in progress. Thanks for watching.👍🤠
Welcome to the Offset family, I have the same smoker
Hey Keith, awesome to join the family - thanks! Loving this little beauty!
indana joe haha
Any difference between PK 360 and PK 300? I’m assuming size difference?
Yes, the PK360 is slightly bigger. The PK300 is based on the original classic design with the clam shell hinge at the end. The PK360 hinge is on the length of the capsule and has a different venting system, a single pedestal stand and base.
Beautiful work!
Thanks mate!
Awesome video and review
I just bought one at Sams Club for 300 bucks.. I’m looking forward to it
You sure you bought a 360 and not the 300?
Quite sure
@@richardsides3963 …heck of a deal! I heard some folks in Birmingham, AL saw the 360 marked down to $300 at their Sam’s Club. Wish I had seen it!
From $300 to $800 in a year?
Merci mec👍
I've bought many a grill through the years. Made my way up to the PK original. Loved the original so much, I bought the PK360. Absolutely love it! I do love my original pk, and thought the 360 couldn't do better, I bought the 360 at twice the price of the original and couldn't be happier. The 360 is the only grill I've used for 3 years running. If I would've bought it first, I wouldn't have bought any others.
360 is made in CHINA
@@mdees88 It is. I went back to the original. It is a much better cooking tool.
@mark I have an original and I bought a 360 right when they came out without knowing it was made in China. It's nice, but I almost never cook on the 360 anymore. I almost exclusively use the original. I like how easy the original is to clean and the fact that I can cook on it several times before needing to clean out the ash.
@@mdees88 so, we agree? Yay!
@@mdees88 Whatever device you’re using to make your comment on this video- where does it and/or it’s components come from? 🧐
Great grill
