Heat 1 of the 2024 European championship at Ipswich raceway for the Grand Prix Midgets, we take out our new car and score a win.

A dry race, the only one of the evening really and offline it was still greasy. Always good racing under the lights.

Racing the borrowed car of Steve Sutch at the season finale. Thanks very much to Steve and all the Sutch family for the opportunity. It's certainly a very different car to mine and one I struggled to fit in but still great fun despite the weather.

So despite being a bit of a geek, I only just realised that I had an action camera with GPS in it so can plot speed, G and track position on my videos. Here you can see the speed, peak G forces and track map (not that interesting on an oval).

Chin cam footage from Aldershot, proof of 2 things, firstly being 3 tenths off the fastest time in a car I've never driven is pretty good and secondly, i'm very calm when my car is on fire. Check out the reflection in the gauges.

A great first outing with the new car, right until it wasn't. I now know i'm very calm whe my car is on fire.

A treat for the chief butty maker of the team today, a planned trip out in a Rage buggy that as usual, didn't go according to plan.
