Galactic Racing
Добавлен 1 апр 2013
GalacticRacing will follow the races of a 1963 Ford Galaxie Lightweight that is campaigned by Marc Ducquet in Historic Touring Car racing in Australia. The Galaxie runs the fibreglass panels that the "lightweight" Galaxies are known for including the bonnet, boot, front guards and doors. It runs a 427ci FE engine and a 4 speed Toploader gearbox. It runs on 15" x 8" wheels with 245/60 tyres on the front and 275/60 tyres on the rear. The car was built in 1994 and campaigned at Bathurst for it's debut meeting where it finished 4th outright. Since then it has raced at many tracks around Australia including Phillip Island, Sandown, Eastern Creek, Barbagallo and Adelaide. It is known for it's power sliding and the crowd always get a thrill from watching it.
1963 Ford Galaxie 427 Group N Historic Touring Car Chasing Falcon GTHO
Group N Historic Touring Cars at Eastern Creek in Nov 2011. Driver is Marc Ducquet who is chasing down Mick Kennedy in the red XW Falcon GTHO that is straight ahead on the starting grid. Race was eventually red flagged due to the amount of cars that had gone off the track and also a major crash at turn 2.

Was this a race or an exhibition?
Nice racing video. Love these older cars. I noticed you've only posted one video in 11 years. If you're still out there post more.
Some really respectful racing going on. Giving each other room and not cutting anyone off. Nobody was going crazy with 'shooting for the gap'
Thanks for the ride!!!
All other drivers reported seeing a UFO fly past them
...Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe
The run past the paddock reminded me of the song' "Hot Rod Lincoln", ....And telephone poles looked like a picket fence. They said, "Slow down! I see spots! The lines on the road just look like dots.
That big ole galaxie really cooks in 4th gear 👍🏾👌🏽
Super
Ah yes...the little known Ford design feature that lets you know when you're going F$&CKING fast...the roof upholstery inverts and WHAPS you in the noggin. Had that happen on an old Galaxie, scared me to death the first time.
427😎
Nobody had anything for it in the straight track !
My brother in law had a 1963.5 with a 390 4 speed while I was growing up I wanted to drive her didn't get a chance he got T-boned so never got to and I was at automotive school a friend had one his was a 427 side oiler with a 4 speed which was black on black the my brother in law had was blue on blue now my dream car is a 1964 Ford thunder bolt that will be my next life I hope
These big american Fords must make europeans blood boil. They are just as fast through the corners as the little euro cars and twice as fast down the straights lol.
Omg what a beast!!
Get rid of the top loader and put a power glide in. That’s all it need’s
horrible exhaust system on it, no howl no deep note, sounds like a 302
I'm at 6 mins in and cannot quit watching. This is one hell of a driver.
what are the rules on those race cars? what are you allowed to do on it?
Beautiful
Too bad it was shut down right when it got very interesting 👍👍🇺🇸
You need to get some outside shots for us somehow. It'd be nice to see you handling them squirrely exits from your turns.
High riser heads and dual quad dual plane manifold along with a suitably modified hood would really compliment that glorious beast.
😌😌😌😌😘
Eargasm!!! I love that he does this while track in 2 gears! That big ole 427 pulls like a freight train!
Eargasm!!! That's it fits perfect
Car has monster torque and long legs but the driver is really missing a pair
lovely!
Anyone know the rear end gear ratio?
man! that looks like a blast!
This caused me to grin like a lunatic and then my shorts got a little tight, right in the front.
Love that sound of that engine
two speed racing amazing power
That looks like fun! I miss America..
low revving high torque motors are just perfect for mickey mouse tracks.
Galaxie passes yellow A35...
I remember my first experience of these monsters at Brands Hatch around 63. Alan Mann in a falcon and Jackie Oliver in a mustang. The minis had them in the bends but they blasted by on the straights. I was and remain hooked.
We have a monster in our midst....
Only thing missing is a contemporary Plymouth decked out in Richard Petty livery! Now these two cars would be the epitome of NASCAR in its heyday
Don't even need low and second. The thing will burn rubber and kick the back end out in third lol!
Great video. So much power but the driver had it under control.
This car has a great engine no doubt in that 427 but at first I didn't think this driver was that good then I noticed this car has some suspension and steering problems that needs attention. This driver was really fighting to keep control and seriously hendered being able to pass simple lap traffic.
Don't need many gears with that much torque.
That's it fellas. Big block and die like real men, without air bags. Remember these are historic examples not necessarily owned by race drivers. Climb in with old suspension, drum brakes and big torque your eyes will get really big and you will talk funny.
I can watch porn like this all day and night.
I just can’t stop smiling.
Very bad handling, dangerous, without sensitivity, correct late, accelerate earlier, turn without power !. I don't even go to the corner with a driver like that. 03:49 So you don't take the wheel !!! WTF?
Loozer
My uncle had a '63 1/2 Galaxie 500 2 dr. hardtop with a " three on the tree" while our family had a black '64 Galaxie 500 4 dr. hardtop with "Cruise-O-Matic" 3 speed auto. They both had the 300 hp option. Even as young men, they never raced them, though. This was the early sixties when factory horsepower was a status symbol and at the dawn of the muscle car era. Those were the days. The Chevy 396 and the Pontiac GTO had just appeared in '65 and '64 respectively. I was a boy of 11-12 and already a "car guy!"
Dig those STOCK windshield wipers !
Notice he started in 2nd. That's torque.
