Trailer:The Finger Lakes; 6 Day Sea Kayak/ Overland Odyssey
A 1 dqy trip to drive 8 hours from Southestern Mass to Buffalo to pick up a 17' Prijon Grizzly Sea Kayak...turned into an unplanned and unexpected last minute 6 day Kayaking and Overlanding adventure across the Finger Lakes Region in NY in my 4 Runner.
From Seneca Lake to Howland Island and Montezuma Wildlife Refuge, to Fairhaven Beach, Lake Ontario, the Erie Canal, Welsley Island, the 1000 Islands, and the mighty St Lawrence River Canadian Channel, it was a touring kayaker's dream trip.
Just as spectacular and challenging as the paddling was...driving thru the countryside and meeting the great people of the region was every bit as enjoyable as the on water fun.

SEA KAYAK & STUNNING TIDAL BAY IN MASSACHUSETTS

Back paddling Salt Water Tidal Bay in Massachusetts. This is where I am from in Southeastern Mass. These are my home waters. Assonet Bay and the Assonet River are both historic waterways. During the Revolution the British sailed up this river to raid the local population. This was an important fishery and planting lands for the Wampanoags who thrived here. This area has been coveted for thousan...

Based Camped at Fish Creek Pond Campground. Was here to explore and check out the back country camping options and to just see this amazing area. This was basically a scouting trip for future trips to get a lay of the land. Turned out base camping was the right choice after i lost my camera, phone, and alot of footage in the water..lol..But, I did base camped to ensure I had a place to stay if ...

Canoeing my favorite small river in Southern Mass.in my Nova Craft Bob Special 15. Only Locals know of this river and I cannot confirm or deny the location on this one. No matter where I go with my boat, I always look forward to returning here. This is the place I will be coming back to for the rest of my days. Although I can't tell you what river this is. I can show you what it is like. Differ...
Acadia Fall Foliage: Before the Winter Comes Ep 8 /ASMR

Low key last camping trip with Mrs Peacerunner before the season ended. She had never been here before to Acadia, and she very quickly realized why I love it so much. It was great to just be tourists and take in the sights and to have a chance to bring her to all the places I have found. She is not really a hiker, so we didn't hike up any mountains or take on any difficult trails. We did some e...

Another great weekend camping and hiking Acadia. Saturday did this great and pretty challenging hike...I admit going back and forth to get the camera was brutal on this one. Filming these is like hiking each trail basically 2x. But I love it and it's a lot of fun. It was a hot and humid day and I was pretty tired after this one. On Sunday I hiked Hugenot Head and Champlain Mountain but didn't f...
Camping & Canoeing Indian & Lewey Lake, Adirondacks

Week spent on Lewey Lake and Indian Lake in the Adirondacks, NY in September of 2022. A rainy and overcast day was also spent atop a mountain overlooking Lake George. But, we were greeted back at our lake by a full rainbow where it was the first time we ever saw a rainbow's actual end. We pulled over and watched it as it sprung up to the sky from the trees below in the valley. It was a rainy we...

I was absolutely blown away by the mesmerizing beauty of this area. I arrived early in the morning on my way to another hike. I was curious as to what this area was and what these hikes were like. All I can say is go here and see this. It's an absolutely beautiful walk thru scenery that is stunning. These are very easy trails...it's more like a stroll thru painting after painting. Hiking in the Forests and Foothills of Southern New England can be spectacular. The terrain can vary from forests and lakes to hills, mountains, Atlantic beaches, and marshlands. Hiking Acadia Ep3: Cadillac South Ridge Trail & Iconic Lighthouse/ ASMR

Spent an early morning Saturday at the iconic Bass Harbor Lighthouse, taking in the sights, sounds, and spectacular views. Be careful on the roads in the early morning fog in the Bass Harbor and Seawall area as there are deer everywhere along the roads, in the fields, and in the yards of those who live there. It was well worth the visit in the early morning. I look forward to visiting this spot...
Hiking Acadia Ep2: Great Head Trail & Sand Beach/ ASMR

Another weekend camping and Hiking Acadia. This hike was so unexpectedly great that I can't recommend it enough. The Great Head Trail is not difficult, but it is spectacular. This is the hike to see Maine's Rocky coast up close and personal. The hike starts at the beautiful Sand Beach, and the drive from my campsite to the hike made me stop at inlets, bays, and coves to film the scenery in the ...

Two days camping and hiking alone at Acadia National Park in Maine for the first time. Absolutely fell in love with everything I saw and experienced here. God willing, I hope to be able to return over and over to climb every peak and hike every trail. A special thank you to the Ranger at Seawall Campground who suggested the Saint Sauveur Mountain and Acadia Mountain Loop. It was everything she ...
That escalated quickly...lol!! What an awesome adventure and it looks like you acquired a pretty fantastic boat, as well!! Great video and congrats!!
Thanks Bud... it was definitely a pretty diverse set of waterways.. The boat was great...Prijon Grizzly...I needed something that could tour like my Sea kayaks...but with more durability and a little more comfort...It was great...had to be a little careful on the big big water cuz I wasn't used to it yet...but it performed the way I hoped it would all around. Thank you for watching and taking the time with the kind words ! Peace
Very nice. You paddled some of my favorites.
Thank you! What a great area...as I was heading from Fairhaven Beach to the 1000 Islands I passed Sandy Creek and remembered your video...actually watched it for directions so thank you!...and it was an amazing experience...with the sights and the people I met there...very special place...very special region...
@@thepeacerunners That's great. Lovin the videos.
@@CanoeCampClimb that means alot thank you so much for the support
Absolutely gorgeous!!! You're right about the similarities- this looks like several of my favorite places to paddle here in North Alabama!! Especially loved that little spot where you stopped and got out! Well done, bro!!
@@SouthernPaddler that's my spot ! I'll be going back there soon...for the foliage...it's like a painting when the foliage is good !
Ahh… Very nice! Reminds me of coastal estuaries and rivers in Connecticut and New Jersey that I have paddled through over the last 4+ decades. Captures the experience beautifully.🙂
Thank you so much! It means alot that you enjoyed it. Yes, the fertile east coast Inlets and tidal rivers are special. I just finished filming another one today that led out to a beach on the ocean in Buzzards Bay. However, I had to check my shark app before going.. we have a ton of great whites on the Mass Coast now...they have come into the salt marshes lol...so besides being scared to death it was a beautiful day smelling that Salt air ! Nothing like it ! That will be coming soon and alot more like it. Thanks again and I hope you will consider subscribing...it helps get these out there. Be well my friend. Peace!
What a beautiful area. It was cool to see the waterways get smaller and smaller and more quaint. That jellyfish was cool. I didn't know they got in that far.
@CanoeCampClimb thank you so much...this is Southeastern Mass where I live near RI ...got lucky to have a calm day.. the tides here and chop can get rough quick...open ocean isn't very far away. But the bays and rivers here are not very remote but beautiful. We got everything in these waters...sturgeon...dolhins...sharks... Even had a beluga whale a little while back in the big river a little way ahead of where I was...lol...guys that fish here mostly are after striped bass and bluefish....thank you again! I'll have more in this area soon.
@@thepeacerunners thanks for the great info. Yes.... the water was like glass. Amazing day for you to paddle.
What a gorgeous place to paddle, at times reminded me of some of my fav. lakes here in N. Ont. The pine trees look like they can talk to you there!
@@21Swayzee it was really a special place that I can't wait to return to! Thank you for watching
Wow, big skies, and looks like a nice peaceful place for a paddle! Love the river reflections in the drone shots!
Thank you so much! It really was a perfect early morning...the bay was glass...was a great day to spend on the water...glad you enjoyed it...thank you for taking the time...more to come soon
Beautiful wilderness wonderfully portrayed. And the loons...so majestic!
@sonder_wonder Thank you so much. Means alot ! The Adirondacks is just a Paddler's paradise. Loved your last kayaking video in RI ! You do a great job with the 360. We can Def hit some rivers sometime ...my email is thepeacerunners@gmail.com ...
How were the bugs?
It was week before Memorial Day...some places were real bad...but I thought overall it would be worse.. they got my neck pretty good lol.. you can see them swarming around me in some clips. But, they didn't bother me too bad....just a couple spots they got me pretty good.lol. I just ignored it and kept moving. I had a bug jacket but never put it on. Thank you for watching...I appreciate you taking the time! Peace!
It's just something that the open water does to a man's inner peace for it's like a beckoning call to just get out there and take it all in like our native American people did before us for this is how they got around literally !!! Now I'm about to embark in the purchase of that solo Old Town Sportsman canoe so I can get out and partake of these tranquil waters and explore some of the unknowns !!!
I don't know if anyone else could say it better...I'm just travelling quietly thru landscapes. They are the star of the show...I'm just a silent dummy moving along lol ! I've had an Old Town for 30 years...17 footer that weighs 100 lbs.. finally had to get something lighter.. this boat is 50. Those new ones are nice and will last you forever. I hope you have many great a peaceful Paddles! I'm gonna subscribe to your channel and check it out ! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! Hopefully I make more in the future that you enjoy! Peace!
I loved this. My kind of vibe. Great job putting this together. You hit up many of my favorite places.
Thank you very much, that means alot ! I just hope my videos on this little channel are respectful of the places I film and the people who love those places. That's why I don't speak. I'm a big dummy! Lol. You are a great ambassador for the Adirondacks. I had a camera and phone end up in the water so I lost alot of footage of my trip...lol...but I'll be back hopefully soon...my last video was of my local "fish creek" that I go to all the time and when I was on your fish creek, it made me think of home...loved it ! Thank you so much for taking the time!
Gorgeous place to paddle! Nice capture of the Osprey flight at the end.
@sonder_wonder that osprey is always on the power lines...big nest...it's like he knew I was filming and decided to fly right over my head...he's the star of that place.. so it's only right that he made an appearance ! lol...thank you
Looks peaceful, I don’t blame you for keeping it secret.
I'll be coming here for the rest of my life
Thank you John for taking the time to comment...greatly appreciated
Nice video. Too bad you had so much cloud cover and fog. Heading up to Acadia for our 7th trip this October. Yep the quiet side is nice, plan on hiking a lot over there this time. We always do Gorham mountain at sunrise. Personally I think it is far better than Cadillac and much less crowded.
Thank you so much, it means alot. Acadia just gets in your blood. I am like the fog man...everytime I go there, I get the fog... but I kinda love hiking in the fog, especially when it's foggy or overcast, but you can still see the views.. This was my first weekend I ever went there...When I went to the Ship Harbor Trail early early morning on my way to Gorham...went on that beach and saw that view...with nobody around...i knew this place was a different deal...and why it's a National Park. That set the stage and mood for the rest of the hikes that weekend and all the other weekends I kept driving 6 hours to get up there. Gorham was awesome...followed the next day by St Saveur and Acadia mountains. I'm just gonna keep going back there over and over. I want to do every trail in the park. It's my favorite place to hike.. love the local people and all the other people I've met there. The Rangers are great.. I'll have to try Gorham at sunrise. Have a few trips planned to get back up there...got hurt at work so I had to take a little break from hiking. Been canoeing while the body gets back in shape.. but...I'll be back...! Thanks so .much for taking the time! Hope you enjoy your trips and what will be coming up this year on this channel! Be well my friend. Peace!
@@thepeacerunners Sorry to hear about the injury. Nothing worse than having to stop hiking because it takes like 6 weeks of hiking to get back in shape. Yep Acadia is in our blood as well. I keep telling my wife that I look forward to the day when we can go up there for a full month every year. Some of our favorites that we never miss out on are the Bee Hive and Great Head. If you are in the mood for a longer "Day Hike" would recommend either the 6 Summits Hike or my favorite which is Jordan Cliffs to the South Bubble to Pemetic Mountain. We do that one every time we go up. If you are in the mood for a sunset hike on the quite side we found a gem the last time we were there. The Beech mountain trail loop is an easy loop hike that has an awesome view at sunset. However, the view isn't at the summit, which is above the fire tower, the view is on the west side of loop as you hike up to the fire tower. The view over long pond looking at the sun set behind Mansell Mountain is amazing. Hope you heal up quick and get back on the trail.
@Matt-1926 Thank you, Bud...I'm ok,...I get hurt all the time cuz I'm an idiot...I never missed work...but just trying to take it easy for a little while so I don't. Haha...You are right...takes that long to train every year. So gotta get that going soon. I do like Beech Mountain. I started filming my Saturdays and Sundays were for me...those hikes I didn't film...Beech Mountain was one of them...Norumbega up the Goat trail was great as was Hugenot Head and Champlain Mountain. I loved the Great Head trail...Got the fog that day but it made it look mystical. Such a great place...hope to get to the ones you mentioned. The plan was to hit some during the winter...but I had to take it easy for a minute and didn't get to go...But...eventually I hope to do them all...love to hear from people that love that place as much as I do...Have a great time up there...! Enjoy every minute of it !
Beautiful camera work!
Thank you Greg...that visit was a trip up there with my wife (who had never been there before) to see the foliage. I didn't hike that weekend...just spent time with her...showing her all the different places I had found that I thought she would like. I usually go up there (6hr drive) on weekends when she is working. So it was nice to get to go there with her so she could see everything and let her take pictures. So we just drove around ...did easy walks...took pictures and some video. Very nice casual fall weekend. Thank you so much.

Ačiū mano drauge! I hope that means "thank you my friend" I appreciate your kindness!
Thank you so much...I feel like I didn't properly do this place justice...I need to do this one again next summer...I went early morning as a warm up for a hike and I had no idea how amazing this place was going to be. .It's one of the places I recommend to everyone in Acadia... especially in the summer or the fall before the leaves fall. There was a storm the week before I went in the fall..so most of the birches had their fragile leaves wiped out by the wind... but it's a magical place...can't wait to return...Thanks so much...means alot!
Another beautiful video. Thank you for sharing.
Very beautiful. Calming music, breathtaking scenery. Perfect match. Enjoyed it greatly. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much! It means a lot that you enjoyed it! I appreciate you taking the time, and I hope I can make others that you may like in the future...peace Bud !
_This virtual walking tour is stunning and enhanced by calming music, Acadia in the fall is simply magical, I love the vibrant colors and the peaceful atmosphere. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video._
Thank you so much! It means a lot that you enjoyed it. Magical is the right word ! I always say Acadia is magic! I drive 5-6 hours to get there as often as I can because it gets in your blood, and for me... there is no place I rather hike. Thank you very much for the kind words!
Beautiful scenery and no bugs usually this time of year.
Thank you Bob! Glad you liked it! That was Jen's first time there and she loved it. I usually get the rain and fog...got a little sunshine mixed with rain this time. Had a very angry Atlantic on one of the days, which was awesome! Bugs were not bad at all !
Gran trabajo en tus videos Enhorabuena my friend Saludos
Machas Gracias, eso significa mucho, buen viaje Amigo ! God I hope that's in the right language, and I said that right! If not...thank you so much for the kind words! Safe travels my friend !
Amazing camera and editing. Not counting hiking everything twice, this must have been very time consuming. Great job!
Thank you so much John! Ya not gonna lie... that beat me up a little on this one! But it was alot of fun! Everyone has their places they love...Acadia has gotten in my soul now...I can't explain how much I love it there. Heading back this weekend for more! Thanks so much!
@@thepeacerunners I have visited there three times in recent years. We love it because we use the buses to get around instead of our Jayco Class C RV.
Yes that definitely makes things easier! I usually take my little 3 person tent and base camp...my 4 runner is a little smaller to say the least haha.. so I just zip around exploring all over the area between hikes. But that shuttle service is a great way to do it...especially in your case with the RV...the RV is the way to go! It's actually 1am and I'm about to head out now to try and get there for 630-7am since I'm in Southern Mass..stay safe and look forward to watching your next one!
This was a wonderful day in a stunning nature. Great captures and nice nature sounds, you are really talented filmmaker my friend!
Thank you so much! That means a lot. Your films are all magical and such a great expression that get to the very soul of hiking itself. I'm just an idiot in the woods making little films on my phone for my wife so she can see what I see when I go hiking.Hopefully showing these trails allows others to know what to expect so they can stay safe out there. But your films are all at a different level and I'm a big fan of yours! Thank you for the encouragement... I have a long way to go to keep getting better... but I'm enjoying the journey!
@@thepeacerunners Thank you very much for these words, but we all present our small and big adventures in our own unique way! That's the beauty of RUclips🥾🥾 Happy trails my friend!
@ervinslens I agree! It's great to see people all over the world showing us no matter where on the globe, that we are all lucky to live on this spectacular planet!
Love the music that is exactly the vibe i'm into when hiking
Thank you so much! That means a lot! Picking the music takes a while. But hopefully, it highlights the landscapes I'm walking thru and looking at. I try to pick music that makes me feel like it felt when I was there...that's my mindset and vibe also when I hike...so I think we are on the same page! Thanks again for taking the time...hope you enjoy the videos! Peace Bud !
