When I was a kid I used to play with the original engineers models of the Golden Arrow and 1000hp Sunbeam at the KLG factory where my dad worked. Wonder what they are worth?
Just bought the kit. Very nice casting. There's some debate about the original color of these cars, and this looks a bit too light.
That's sometimes the issue with scale car models. Some builders (who acknowledge the notion of 'scale light') intentionally lighten their paint a bit since using original spec color at times appears too dark on a small model when compared to the actual vehicle being rendered.

I have the wind-up tin toy produced in the 1930's. Passed to me by my father. It is missing the sponsons (radiators). And of course, as he did with every single toy he owned, he repainted it. My understanding is that the car was actually painted black when it raced and later painted a gold color after it was retired. Nice work on your model, there. Great detail and paintwork!
