Norton door closers in a school (reuploaded)
Where is the location and city state
Both of these potbellies are Lockwood universal ball bearing closers. Loved seeing them
Norton 1600, end of body has brand, Tell uses round forearm, Norton and Yale as well some other ASSA ABLOY brands use flat form forearm
Oh thx
LCN 1461
Body shape may favor the Corbin/russwin, this appears to be a Dorma 7800 series as indicated by the snap-fitted elbow joint, Corbin/Russwin in 80’s and 90’s used a ball and socket type joint similar to a potbelly but as a riveted arm, nowadays C/R uses the same arm Norton/Yale uses
Loved watching you demonstrate your Corbin!! Its yes because of how the insides work why it it jerky until a certain point in closing cycle, thanks for shoutout. That is correct about what valve does what as well, your learning. I am glad to be helpful and teach you on these old beauties! -Jess the Door Closer Doctor
Thx so much for your help 🙂
Thanks for the shoutout!! It appears its more of a door issue why this closer is not latching properly, it being 100 years it will have some problems here and there. This door looks familiar, did you have one of your smaller closers on pull side of this door last year?? I think it was the Universal hardware or the Ryobi as I remember being on video chat with you during the install
Ya at this point I don't care that much lol this is a old door
It’s the door close the guy from that group on Discord that you spoke to a couple days ago. I would love one of them. I’ve always wanted a potbelly. It’s not my dream clothes but it’s one of really wanted for ages.
And I think the arm is upside down just to let you know
@@Busterboo13yes the arm is upside down on the russwin, I helped him get the arm off while on video chat, the closer did put up a fight but it eventually came off.
Ya these are one of the best closers that were ever made and I am glad that I got two of them
I had that in my schools gym but it broke
Nice what did they replaced it with
The F I just watch?
The first 2 closers are the LCN 4110/4113, 4040’s use a different bolt hole pattern. The twins “UL fire door” door closers with the small arm is Rixson Smoke chek, Universal hardware and Ryobi use a similar body but UH I believe is from China and Ryobi is from Japan, the brands are independent of eachother. Love seeing your collection!! -Jess the Door Closers Doctor
Thx for your help and I am glad that you are enjoying my videos 😊
Looks like a Norton 8000 series, autism school I taught st had them, they are a good closer
Thx for your help my friend
First one I think is a corbin/Russwin, second looks like a Yale
Nice
Ideal security hardware brand, nice find, not highly recommended for a restaurant though, but least it still closes the door!
Ya it's in good shape
what is your other channel called
I don.t know
I don't know
Green screw is for refilling the closer after a rebuild, on a RH it is green, on a LH it is red, different colors was to help identify the hand
Thx for your help
@@thelcnman1212 your welcome
This is a Norton 7700, common closer found in schools!
The electronic hold open device, it was installed paralell or regular arm, it used the closer’s arm and looked like 2 closers sharing same arm, the device is no longer used /obsolete by today’s standards, The device was known as the Rixson “Smok-Check” Nice find!!
Thanks
The first one that you mentioned is not doing it’s hold open, although many of the Uni-trol arms look similar, the arm it has now appears it only limits how far the door can be opened.
Thx for your help
