Testing a Federal Signal FP1-06 Headlight Flasher. This flasher is actually designed for use in a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. You just have to plug it into the factory harness, connect 12V and it works. For other vehicles you actually need to cut your high beam wires, just like with any other universal headlight flasher.

Testing a Federal Signal Unitrol Touchmaster TM4 siren after repairs. All internal lamps were burnt, one LED was burnt, a capacitor was bad and the cable were cut extremely short, so I had to replace them as well. Also, the customer requested to have the Hi-Lo tone removed because it's for a California police car, so it has now a wail-man-wail function just like the actual CA model.

First test run of a Code 3 Mastercom siren amplifier after its repairs. When I received it, it did not work at all. One of the two mainboards was partially burnt, some capacitors were bad, some LEDs were burnt, one switch did not work, etc. Now after some repairs and replacing the lower mainboard it's finally working correctly.

Looks ok but you need a spacer to lift it an inch above the curved roof line. Lift it and get a big siren in there and I could see that as a post government collapse police car serving a small town

Ah so thats why my one touchmaster says "hi lo" and the other says "wail"
the sacramento vic doesnt have a touchmaster delta in it its a tm4 the older one. the yelps between the two are different. the tm4 yelp starts lower as where the tmd is much more pronounced in the transition from wail to yelp.

Tap command wire, white with purple stripe, to power . Hold onto power for like one second and release to go back one pattern.

I'm curious for my own education. How can you tell that this is a chain driven model? It is my understanding that Federal later made these with two individual rotators, each with their own motor, just as they did with the Jetsonic.

@@edprice1748 you know that there is an easier way to answer my question. Like, chain driven models stay in sync, separate motors don't. Don't have to act like I was asking a stupid question.
Never seen one of these chain drive, just reverse the poles on one motor and they spin opposite, no reason for them to go out of sync once set.
@@jimmartin7881 No two motors hold an exact speed so they wouldn't stay in sync. As the temp changes in the motors they will change speed ever so slightly.

Yes, the smaller towns still have them because of there budget. 9/10 times they get them from the Public Works building that are trying to phase them out to make room for the new LED setups.

I am guessing this was a staged code 3 response. Neat to see at least one real black and white police car in there. In the real world there would never be a need for a code 3 response in this area. Lights and sirens are used to clear traffic and intersections. None of that in this location.
Wow rotators very rare now a days since the new LED crap replaced them and u caught an old Cherokee still in action EXTREMELY RARE TO SEE TODAY

I have the same truck. Been a good runner until recently. The rear end went out put a new one in to find out the transfer case broke. Playing hell trying to find the right one.
The 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Maury City TN Had til 2013 had 2 of the exact same things one was this and the other was red and blue.

it's a 350 cubic inch, so a 5.7 liter Chevy small block.
The Nova was originally imported from the US to France (in 2011/2012), then it made its way to the Netherlands and finally to Germany. I didn't import it. I got it from a car dealer who's specialized in US classic cars, they import the vehicles and do the necessary modifications for German streets, if needed (like the small red reflectors on the rear bumper). I do have mounted smaller plates in the meantime (got the special permit) which fit much better. I really, really love this car, thanks.
