Follow Silvi, a quirky, and very upbeat visually impaired PhD student in music cognition, and her sighted guide Jeanette, a former opera singer and indomitable vocal coach with a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Join our adventures, daily life, research trek halfway around the world and every fun and um...not so fun moment in between. This vlog-style channel shows the uncut side of living and reaching for a dream with a severe visual impairment in South Africa. Sharing research and disability-related tips and tricks with you guys as we navigate the balance between daily and academic life, we hope to inspire and educate with this journey. The motto here is anything is possible if you Dare to Dream!!!

What was wrong with the man walking with his guide dog?
They did not look well cared for.
Guiding Paws what visual cues were seen in regards to both human and dog? Isn’t South Africa also home to many very low income citizens? I’m sorry if i sound ignorant. I’d love to spend time in Africa to interacts and learn about the communities.

Hi, what a great channel on youtube! I have a 4 year old daughter with bilateral coloboma of iris, retina, choroid and optic nerve, microphthalmia, cataracts and nystagmus. I love to see how you get on in life and how smart your dog is.

Thanks for your quick response. We are from Spain, and my husband and I are now worried about how she would develop herself tomorrow in school as well as in day-to-day life, although for the time being she is not hurt, she has her own resources. We are also worried that they mess with her, insult her or treat her differently, especially in adolescence.
