Tensioning of 2 con-rods

With new Batteries in the tension wrench we continue to tension the 4 nuts per con-rod to specification. You will note the yellow X on the man bearing bolts this is to indicate that these bolts have been tensioned to specification the same marking was also put on the con-rod nuts when they were tensioned.
Piston Installation

In this video we can see a piston being installed and the Bearing cap being install with the four nuts. Unfortunately as we started to tension the con-rod bolts the batteries in our $1000.00 Torque wrench went flat. Just another example how a simple 20cent part can bring your whole day undone.

This video shows the crank shaft installed. As part of the process when the Main bearing bolts have been torqued to specification we mark the head of the bolts with a paint pen to indicate to any member of our tem that these have been torqued correctly
